Book Introduction
A word from MD
This is a new book by Kim Seon-young, a broadcast writer and writing coach who upgraded the literacy skills of many adults with her previous work, “Adult Literacy.”
In today's world, where non-face-to-face communication has become more frequent after the coronavirus pandemic, this book teaches us how to communicate smoothly through sentences that properly meet the three requirements of conversational purpose, target, and consideration.
- Self-development MD Kim Sang-geun
Didn't you ramble on even in a short conversation?
Do you ever worry about whether you wrote it correctly every time you write an email?

In an age where a single, trivial sentence can determine work and relationships,
Even if I just improve my writing skills by 2%, my life will change.

Are KakaoTalk conversations spoken or written? Communication is increasingly taking place via text, chat, email, blogs, and social media.
In these cases, since I mainly express my thoughts and opinions through sentences, my writing skills have become important, but unfortunately, there are many people who cannot even write short sentences properly.
Being able to communicate effectively is essential for improving relationships at work and at home and achieving desired results.

Writer Kim Seon-yeong (Geulbap), who has been working as a broadcast writer for 13 years on programs such as “Live Today Morning” and “Weather Leak,” has focused on the short sentences people use every day while working as a writing instructor and literacy instructor at the Osan Education Foundation in addition to her broadcasting work.
And I wrote this book to teach people who are not good at writing sentences the neat and accurate 'adult writing skills'.

Into the book
In an open chat room where people don't know each other's faces, the first impression of the other person is determined by just three sentences.
What kind of sentence structure would you like to have a conversation with?
Who do you want to work with?
Depending on how you write a sentence, a person's personality can seem good or their abilities can seem superior.
The way one writes and speaks reveals a person's self-esteem and perspective on the world.
---From "Positive Sentences Create a Positive First Impression"

In today's busy society, there are many steps that must be omitted when pursuing efficiency.
However, in the communication sentences, I felt a bit disappointed that I wish we had just exchanged a greeting like 'hello' and started the conversation.
Even if it is only formal, it is a small favor that allows someone whose face you cannot see to prepare themselves mentally.
Both I and the other person feel refreshed.
The conversation will flow much more smoothly.
---From "The First Encounter That Wins Hearts: A Favorable Greeting and Self-Introduction"

'Who does each of them mean?' 'Where is Je-min's office?' 'Who comes up at nine?' 'Where are they going after they're picked up?' As we talked, questions kept forming in my head.
The last two lines of the message would have been enough.
My caring partner tried to kindly explain the circumstances of the unexpected appointment to me from beginning to end, but communication failed.
All I wanted to know was what time he would return home.
