Into the book
“I write about the me who has lived for the me who will live.”
“Everyone has just one book.
“That book is your life.”
I never knew that writing a book would really change my life.
I lived as an ordinary office worker, but then became unemployed and lived a listless life.
Like many unemployed people, there's a place I go to every morning when I open my eyes.
Some will be neighborhood parks, others will be bustling downtown areas.
I had a library overflowing with books.
For the first few years, I just read books.
I never imagined writing a book.
It's true.
Even when I was working as a mobile phone researcher at Samsung Electronics, I was unemployed and went to the library every day.
Even when I was going to work, writing a book was not in my life plan.
I never even dreamed of becoming a writer.
But after writing one book, my life changed completely.
After writing just one book, my life changed so much that it felt like I was living in a different world.
In the past, or rather, before I turned 40, I thought that writing books throughout my life was something that only writers could do.
The world seems to have taught us.
They say that only 'smart people, successful people, and special people' can and should write books.
As a result, I decided for a long time that writing books had nothing to do with me, and I just read books.
Even though I quit my job, became unemployed, and had all the time on my hands, I never thought about writing a book.
This kind of thinking and consciousness was the biggest obstacle.
Writing a book has now become a public offering.
We live in an age where writing books is now open to everyone.
To keep pace with the changing times, anyone, no matter who they are, must write a book with an open mind and awareness.
Because times have changed so much.
There is another, more important reason.
That's because everyone has just one book.
That book is your life.
