Book Introduction
This book is structured as follows to promote understanding of inclusive education for all students and to cover specific teaching practices for implementing it.
First, in the concept and trends of inclusive education (Part I), we examine the diverse learners in inclusive education and the state of special education in the era of inclusive education (Chapter 1), and discuss the historical background, major issues, and recent trends of inclusive education (Chapter 2).
Part II, School Culture and Systems Inclusive of All, explains various perspectives on disabilities and implementation methods for disability awareness education (Chapter 3), and explains the collaborative system within and outside the school based on the importance of school culture and leadership for inclusive education (Chapter 4).
Part III of Instructional Design and Support for All Students covers understanding and applying universal learning design and technology for diverse learners (Chapter 5), the importance of a general curriculum approach and the curriculum modification and teaching practices required for this approach (Chapter 6), and understanding and applying co-teaching to support inclusive classroom instruction (Chapter 7).
