Song Seung-hoon, a Korean language teacher with 21 years of experience, has endured not only hardships but also aerial battles. When I first became a teacher, I recommended a book I treasured to my students, but later found that the book was in the recycling bin at the back of the classroom.
That recycling bin was the nest of the reading education he had been doing.
I thought it would be great to have discussions with students, but when I asked them to discuss, they just started talking about other things.
But he did not become frustrated and constantly asked himself:
"Why on earth did it fail?" There's no guarantee that a new attempt will succeed, but he finds his next step after going through repeated failures.
