Author's Story

《The Island of Wild Robots》 is a picture book adaptation of 《Wild Robots》, my first novel for children.
The reason I published a picture book was because I wanted to show Rose's life on the island in larger, more detailed, and more colorful pictures.
But the story contained here is only a small part of the adventures of Wild Robot.

The story of a life searching for its reason for existence!

On a coast swept by a violent storm, a box washed ashore by the waves quietly opens, and a robot opens its eyes inside.
Robot Rose is thrown alone into the forests, seas, and wild life of an unfamiliar island.
“I am not a monster.
I am a robot.
“My name is Rose.” To survive, to live, Rose learns the language of animals and listens to the rhythm of nature.
In the wind and waves, the gestures of animals, and the cycle of seasons, Rose gradually comes to realize the meaning of 'existence'.

Peter Brown's paintings do not depict nature realistically.
Instead, it captures the structure of the forest, the breath of the sea, the direction of the wind, and the rhythm of life in shapes such as triangles, squares, and circles.
