Publisher's Review
'Travelogue, Alvar Aalto' is a travel report written by the author while traveling to see the architecture of Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, after being selected as the recipient of the Bartlett Travel Scholarship from The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London in 2010.

The author's sketching journey began with the question of whether, despite using a digital camera to record and preserve his travel experiences, he somehow failed to see more.
This travel record, which gave up the habit of constantly clicking the shutter of a digital camera upon arriving at a travel destination and instead spent a long time in one place, meticulously observing and sketching Alvar Aalto's architecture, is the result of our reflections on what we truly wanted to experience through travel.

Alvar Aalto, born in Finland in 1898, is a legendary architect known as one of the masters who had a great influence on the 20th century modernist architectural movement.
Aalto's architecture, sometimes defined as 'Organic Modernism', is described as using materials that represent the regional characteristics of Finland, with spaces that have non-uniform, organic forms and rich craftsmanship details.
Aalto left behind many architectural works throughout Finland, and designed not only the architectural designs but also everything related to architecture, including lighting, furniture, and interior accessories.
Artek furniture, founded by Alvar Aalto and synonymous with modern Nordic furniture design, is one of the representative legacies left behind by Alvar Aalto.
