Pets are no longer just pets; they have become part of the family.
With the number of households with pets in Korea surpassing 6 million, interest in the health and well-being of companion animals is growing by the day, leading to rapid growth in animal hospitals and related industries.
Amid these changes, the importance of professional animal health personnel is growing day by day.
In particular, an accurate understanding of veterinary medicines and the ability to handle them safely are key competencies required in the field.

In response to these contemporary demands, 『Animal Health and Pharmaceutical Management』 was written to help animal health specialists and other animal-related professionals correctly understand and apply veterinary drugs in their practice.
This book systematically covers a wide range of topics, starting with the basic concepts of drugs, including various dosage forms and mechanisms of action, drug classification, and safe storage and handling methods.

In particular, theoretical content such as the drug's action mechanism, absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion processes, and drug interactions have been organized as easily as possible, and practical information such as oral medication procedures required in veterinary hospitals, drug storage and inventory management, and safe handling tips have also been included.
We also provide a detailed introduction to the characteristics of frequently used drugs for major animal body systems, including antibiotics, parasite control agents, and vaccines, as well as the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems.

We hope that this book will be a useful guide not only for students preparing to become animal health specialists, but also for veterinary practitioners and the general public interested in the health of companion animals.
Beyond simply imparting knowledge, I hope this will be a small but meaningful contribution to fostering expertise and a sense of responsibility for a society where animals and people can live together healthily.
