Into the book
This book presents a balanced model of word and experience by showing the inner and practical aspects of faith that people often miss.
I cannot help but be amazed at how real and biblical the spiritual experiences and fellowship God has granted to an individual are.
It deals with the topic of 'sin and repentance,' which is essential to religious life, not just the spiritual world, thereby increasing the reliability of spiritual experiences.
--- p.8
I did the same.
Under the delusion that 'I am a good believer and a great pastor who does many good things,' my spirit was actually asleep.
While I was living in that misery, the Lord met me under an apple tree, sleeping deeper than death.
His holy kiss awakened my spirit from the decades of life of a nylon pastor and a habitual religious person.
The story of waking up from that sleep is the record of this 『Locked Garden』.
--- p.12~13
"God, are you really alive? If you are alive right now and are listening to my prayer, please let me know.
Since I am a finite being, I lack the eyes to see you. But since you are an infinite being, shouldn't you have eyes to see me? If you truly exist, please forgive me for the past times I lived without believing in you.
Even if you are alive, I am not good at speaking and cannot even speak well, so please understand my feelings.'
--- p.28
What is the way to hide our human shame? This question has been constantly asked throughout human philosophy, thought, and history for thousands of years. There is only one way.
It is to completely cover ourselves from head to toe with the robe of the Holy Spirit sprinkled with the blood of Jesus Christ.
--- p.66
For me, the words of the Bible sometimes spread through my soul like the quiet morning sunlight, but at other times they shake my soul like a storm.
Sometimes it gives a shock as if you were hit in the back of the head with a hammer.
--- p.79
When we are truly rooted in Christ and our faith deepens, we can understand God's calculations.
When my eyes rest where His eyes rest, I will do the greatest things.
Those who changed the world were not great people, but ordinary people who were held in the hands of a great God and used by Him.
The greatest thing we have to do is to have faith in the great God.
--- p.85
In fact, I have been fasting and crying out to the Lord in repentance and confession for the past few days.
Among the many repentances, the Holy Spirit especially reminded me of the issue of money, which I had been stingy with before God, and made me regret it.
I poured out to the Lord everything I could think of, including overdue offerings, missed offerings, and things I hadn't given.
This is while breaking the account I had saved for retirement.
--- p.98
As I lay on my side, hot tears streamed down from my eyes onto the pillow.
Suddenly, I remembered the moment I first met Jesus at the tender age of 26.
At that time, I saw Jesus in a dream for the first and last time in my life.
The dream scene was so vivid that even decades later, whenever I close my eyes, it comes back to me vividly and clearly.
--- p.129
“Jesus, the flowers are all dead. Can you at least save the tree?” Even though I knew it would be useless, I came home in the middle of the night and watered it generously.
And I was so tired that I fell asleep right away.
The next morning, the completely dead azalea blossoms came back to life, as if by magic! It was Jesus.
He is alive, He reads my heart, and He answers my prayers.
--- p.190~191
A number of glittering gold bowls sat on a slowly rotating turntable.
They were beautiful vessels that had emptied themselves cleanly to be used by their masters.
It was the spirit of God's people who emptied themselves for the sole reason of loving Jesus.
--- p.215
Every day spent with you feels like a dream to me.
I have never experienced this feeling before.
Now I completely hate things of the world.
Television programs, games, dramas, Facebook, all social media…
Now I'm starting to feel my values changing little by little.
Thank you for breaking me to pieces and turning me back to dust.
Thank you for giving me new life.
I am now completely the Lord's.
My only choice is you, Jesus.
--- p.334
Forgiveness is not something you can choose to do or not do.
It is my commandment to forgive your brother.
You must obey that commandment.
This matter concerning your faith is a matter of obedience and disobedience before Me.'
--- p.401
My beloved Jesus! It is the honor of my life that you have invited me to such a precious and narrow path.
I don't want to disappoint you or betray you.
Please protect and guide me until the day I enter your kingdom through the pearly gates.
I am such a fragile earthen vessel.

Publisher's Review
“A book that rekindles the lost spark of first love!”
An amazing record of spiritual transformation, imbued with the breath of Jesus!
The bestseller "The Locked Garden," which was published in 2017 and caused a huge stir in Korean Christian circles, earning the nickname "Korean Pilgrim's Progress," has returned in a revised edition with more solid content and unfinished stories.
This book is the first to cover the first half of Pastor Jessica Yoon's spiritual recovery, and it centers on the spiritual events the author experienced while ministering to marginalized groups, such as the homeless and addicts, for over 30 years at the Salvation Army in the United States after experiencing the Holy Spirit at the age of 26.
She vividly and realistically describes her encounters with Jesus, spiritual conversations, visions and revelations, entry into the spirit world, and God's guidance as she recovered her faith in her first love and grew spiritually as the bride of Christ.
However, it goes beyond simply recording supernatural experiences, presenting the issue of sin, the importance of repentance, and spiritual insights based on the Word, prompting reflection on the faith journey of busy modern people.
Above all, the author's honest and unadorned confession of faith before Jesus makes me quietly reflect on the current state of my faith.
From those who lost their first love
As the bride of Christ
A journey of tears and joy that changed my life forever.
As time passes, our feelings and lives of knowing God gradually rust and become dull.
Faith begins to become self-righteous, and eventually our spirit falls into drowsiness or a deep sleep.
Most of us live our lives without even realizing that our spirits are in that state.
The Lord commanded me to write down this conversation and leave it as a record for the flock.
And he asked me to tell this to religious people like me who exist in the church today, who believe that they are different.
The Lord commanded me to write down this conversation and leave it as a record for the flock.
And he asked me to tell this to religious people like me who exist in the church today, who believe that they are different.
