Description
Book Introduction
John MacArthur's longest-running book in continuous publication!
A book that has been consistently loved for 30 years since its first publication in the United States!
We are saved to worship!
Worshiping God is the theme of the Bible, the eternal theme, and the theme of salvation history.
True worship is not limited to Sunday morning worship, nor is it restricted by time or place.
Worship should not be isolated or relegated to one place, time, or part of our lives.
We cannot live a selfish and carnal life and only thank and praise God with words.
Worship is the essential expression of service to God offered by a soul that truly loves and praises God.
Therefore, true worship must be a continuous activity of all believers, and the purpose of that activity must not be simply to please the worshiper, but to please God.
That is, true acts of worship must flow from a life of constant worship.
But modern Christianity seems to be obsessed with the idea that God should give us something and with getting something from God.
God is a God who gives us abundantly, but the essence of true faith and true worship is wrapped up in the glory and adoration we give to God.
A strong and devoted desire to serve God is the crucial element of true worship.
It is about giving ourselves first, our attitude, and then our possessions.
Until worship becomes life.

Into the book
Salvation is the foundation of worship, the key that opens closed doors and enables us to worship, and it is what transforms unworthy worshipers into worshipers acceptable to God.
If you are saved and are not currently worshipping God properly, you are denying the purpose for which you were saved.
Ask yourself these questions:
'Am I worshipping God?' 'Is worship a way of life for me?' The Bible demands worship.
Fate demands worship.
Eternity demands worship.
Angels demand worship.
Our Lord commands us to worship.
Are you a true worshiper?
--- From “Part 4: Saved to Worship”
When I feel inadequate and helpless, I think of Philippians 4:13:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Ephesians 3:20 says that God is “able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.”
God's power sustains us in our daily lives.
It is a great encouragement and strength.
No problem we face is too difficult for God to solve.
No matter what difficulties may hinder our growth and development, we know that God is greater.
Psalm 121:1-2 gives us this perspective:
“I will go to the mountains, I will lift up my eyes; where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” God created the entire universe with just a word.
None of our problems are a match for God's great power.
Ephesians 6:10 tells us to “be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.”
We don't have to fight with our own strength.
When the enemy approaches, do not fight, but tell the Lord, your Commander.
He fights for us.
The secret of our victory is to rely on His power.
--- From “Part 6: The Unchanging and Almighty God”
“For our sake he made him who had no sin to be sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Therefore, to have true faith, we must take off all our masks of righteousness and confess that we are hopeless sinners.
In fact, all our efforts to increase our own value are meaningless to God.
Even the best and most merciful human actions are deeply flawed because of our sinful nature.
From God's holy perspective, they are trash.
But to those who repent of their self-righteousness and believe in Christ as Lord and Savior, God imputes his perfect righteousness (Philippians 3:8-9).
Because of that, we can stand before God right now.
--- From "Chapter 8 Holy, Holy, Holy"
To offer our lives for the glory of God is to sacrifice ourselves.
It means that we love God more than anything else.
A true worshiper does not think about how much it will help him, how much money he will make, how successful he will be, how much fame he will gain, how many friends he will have, or how spiritual he will appear to others.
Seeking God's glory is a solitary endeavor, without any thought for one's own benefit.
True worship has nothing to do with popularity or the reactions of others.
