Into the book
This book is written with those who are confused by the Book of Revelation, fearful of it, or captivated by it in mind.
My goal is to help save the book of Revelation from those who either completely misinterpret it as a book or ignore it entirely.
This book is the result of 25 years of serious reading, reflection, teaching, and traveling to places related to the Book of Revelation.
_Prelude from “Reading the Book of Revelation Correctly”
1.
If you have any experiences related to the Book of Revelation, please share them.
Any experience, good or bad, is fine.
_Among the “Issues to Chew and Discuss” that conclude “Prelude”
Interestingly, two of these terms most closely associated with the book of Revelation—the rapture and the antichrist—do not even appear in the book.
Conversely, the most important words in the Book of Revelation, such as witness, throne, and lamb, do not come to mind immediately.
_Chapter 1 “The Mystery, Problems, and Promises of the Book of Revelation”
Some scholars have likened the imagery in Revelation to a political cartoon, full of symbolism, exaggeration, and fantasy.
These images appear vividly in full color on a high-definition 3D screen.
The Book of Revelation “describes events beyond human capacity for expression, using science fiction and other such jargon.”
_Chapter 2 “What Are We Reading? The Form of the Book of Revelation”
The book of Revelation is better read as a response to the “everyday empire”—the many evils, injustices, and misplaced allegiances with which we wrestle every day.
The Book of Revelation is a powerful wake-up call to those who have taken for granted beliefs, convictions, and practices that should not even be considered.
_Chapter 3 “What Are We Reading? The Book of Revelation”
Where there is dissolution, reconstruction must follow.
We began this reconstruction process by summarizing the theology of the Book of Revelation.
The next step is to present an alternative set of principles for reading the Book of Revelation—that is, an interpretive strategy or hermeneutics that centers on the Lamb and follows the example of the cross.
Chapter 4: “How Should We Read the Book of Revelation? Interpreting the Book of Revelation”
But the image of a lamb that was slain and sacrificed (by itself) does not mean that this lamb is powerless.
In fact, the opposite is true.
The Lamb is in fact a lion, the Messiah, with seven eyes, signifying perfect knowledge or wisdom, and seven horns, signifying perfect power (5:6).
He shares in the kingly authority of God, as the being in Daniel 7:13-14.

Publisher's Review
Follow the Lamb, the Lord of Heaven
O pure people of God!
Rejecting the tyrannical rule of power and capital,
Restore the holiness of the church according to the cry of the Book of Revelation!
The history of passionate misunderstandings about the Book of Revelation is as long as the history of the book itself, and the consequences are quite serious.
Some religious groups have attempted mass suicide due to fears stemming from the Book of Revelation.
Some people live in seclusion in preparation for the coming apocalypse and tribulation, or are preoccupied with calculating the timetable for the end times.
Also, pseudo-Christian cults around the world use the Book of Revelation to deceive and exploit people.
The energy condensed in the Book of Revelation is truly immense, and how we read, teach, and preach it can have a powerful impact on our own emotions, our souls, and even our physical and financial well-being—not to mention the well-being of others.
Because of this burden, many Christians are reluctant to deal with the book of Revelation.
Most churches, seeking to avoid errors in biblical interpretation, leave the book of Revelation shrouded in mystery, so it is rare for the entire book of Revelation to be preached from church pulpits.
The dispensationalism that many churches in our country rely on when interpreting the Book of Revelation has encountered limitations in historical, interpretive, and theological aspects.
In this context, this book sets the direction of interpretation of the Book of Revelation straight and clearly reveals what the Book of Revelation is trying to say.
The true value of the Book of Revelation is not in drawing a blueprint for the end of the world.
The Book of Revelation presents a magnificent picture of the subjugation not only of the New Testament, but of the entire Bible, and indeed of all human history, under the rule of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.
As we read the Book of Revelation in the direction this book points and follow the Lamb toward the new creation, the church will be able to overcome all the rule, authority, and power of this world, symbolized by Babylon.
This book asks us not to fear the apocalyptic end, but to consider how we can practice true worship and witness even amidst the demonic dominion of the world.
With this book as a guide, we must now reread the Book of Revelation!
