Because the world of plants in winter reflects the purifying work God does to remove imperfections from the lives of His people.
Imagine a winter tree standing bare and desolate.
Beneath the beautiful green leaves hide all kinds of imperfections and flaws.
It's just that the beautiful leaves cover up the flaws.
But now those flaws are laid bare before you in shocking detail.
When you look at the outer appearance of a tree that has lost all its leaves and is enduring the winter, the tree is no longer beautiful.
So has the tree changed? Not at all.
The tree is still the same as before.
It was like that from the beginning.
Only the leaves that obscure its true form have disappeared.
In other words, the outward beauty of the leaves surrounding the outside only hid the inner self that had always existed.
What is revealed on the outside is not so pretty.
But that soul has absolutely no new flaws.
It just exposes the flaws that already existed.
As we expose our flaws, healing gradually takes place.
