Heart of Prayer
Heart of Prayer
Description
Book Introduction
'E.
The first book in the M. Bounds Prayer Classics series.
In this book, the author, who is called 'a man of prayer' and 'a prophet of prayer', talks about what is most important in prayer, what attitude one should have when praying, and what the relationship between prayer and the Word is.
Prayer was the first priority in his religious life, to the point that he started each day with a morning prayer, and even when reading the Bible or delivering a sermon, he always prayed first.
The reason his books on prayer have been consistently read for the past 100 years is because they are records written on one's knees.
The author, who says, "The more you pray, the more you love God's word and read it diligently," presents the direction of true prayer in this book and guides you to bear the fruit of a true life of faith through prayer.

Into the book
Light the fire of heavenly prayer in my heart!

William Booth, a true believer in England in the past, prophesied that Christianity would face a time of crisis, saying:
“The greatest danger of the coming century will be faith without the Holy Spirit, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, and heaven without hell.”
Isn't this precisely the kind of time we live in today? I'd like to add one more thing here.
It is precisely 'a prayerless Christian, a prayerless church.'
What is the cause of this? There are many reasons, but one is that those who don't pray are calling for prayer, and those who don't have a secret prayer closet are writing books on prayer.
AW
Tozer diagnosed that the reason today's church is powerless is because people who have not experienced the Holy Spirit are preaching about the Holy Spirit.
Accordingly, Gyu-jang prayed and pondered over who would be a senior in the faith who could competently establish the basics of prayer from the beginning to the end as a person of prayer.
Meanwhile, E. was proven to be a powerful prayer warrior with both words and knees.
M. Bounds comes to mind.

Prophet of Prayer
Bounds was a 'prophet of prayer.'
He always woke up at 4 a.m. every day and prayed until 7 a.m.
He never read the Word without praying, and he never preached or evangelized without praying.
The prayer books he wrote were also written not with a pen but on his knees.
His lion's roar, a powerful call for prayer, sets cold hearts on fire and sends them running to the prayer closet.
However, he is not a spiritual white-faced scholar who only prays in his room.
He was a man who had a keen understanding of the hardships of life and the pain of death.
He was a 'man of field prayer' who, while serving as a military chaplain in the midst of the American Civil War, broke through the abyss of human suffering through prayer.
He himself was captured by the Northern Army and suffered hardships in prison.
He was never a man who prayed in a greenhouse.
So his writings have the power of a prophetic insight that penetrates the essence of humanity and shakes our souls.

The Power of Prayer
We don't need fancy theories or fancy words about prayer now.
We need a book that will actually make us pray, a book that will have the power to get us on our knees in prayer right now.
We are the 'warriors of reversal'(?) who stood firm without being brainwashed by the many spiritual propagandas of the past saying, "Let's pray."
I became immune to most of the warnings of prayer.
Now, a true prayer warrior, a champion of prayer who has withstood the ravages of time, must appear and knock us, those who are lazy in prayer, down to our knees.
So, E., a man of prayer, established the ABC of power prayer and its value has been proven over the past 100 years.
M. Bounds' book was revised and introduced to Korean Christians by Gyu Jang.
'E.
A total of 10 volumes of 'M. Bounds Prayer Classic' will be published, including books that have not been introduced in Korea before.
The Complete Works of E.C. Baker Publishing Company, which refined archaic expressions into modern English.
Because this translation is based on the original text, M. Bounds on Prayer, Bounds' writing will be much more modern and easier to understand than before.

Reform of Prayer
Our time now is one that requires a comprehensive reform of prayer.
There is a growing trend of scripted prayers, flattery prayers, eloquent prayers, and self-love prayers aimed at currying favor with the audience rather than prayers directed to God.
Prayers seeking the kingdom of God and God's righteousness are rare.
After setting goals to fulfill your ambitions, finish with prayer.
So, there is a strange phenomenon that the more you pray, the more greedy you become.
As the college entrance exam approaches, churches become crowded with people attending dawn prayers, but once the college entrance exam results are announced, the sanctuary becomes deserted.
For the sake of a revival of dawn prayer, shouldn't Korea's College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) be maintained? It's truly incomprehensible.
Just as Calvin's Institutes of the Christian Reformation was used as a textbook for the European Reformation in the past, 'E.
M. Bounds presents 'Prayer Classic'.
Everyone who reads Bounds' book will be moved by the spirit of prayer and will pray with a heart burning with the fire of the Holy Spirit and the Word.
Especially 'E.
This book, the first in the M. Bounds Prayer Classics, covers the most fundamental and important aspects of his thought on prayer.
So this book corresponds to the 'Heart of Prayer'.
Therefore, it powerfully addresses what is most important in prayer, what posture should we have while praying, and what the relationship between prayer and the Word is.
A prayer veteran who has gone through tears of prayer and fierce battles of prayer will guide us on the path of true prayer.

- Pastor Kim Eung-guk, Editor-in-Chief of the Korean Edition of the Gyu Jang Journal

Publisher's Review
“Speak, Lord, for I am listening!”
Only those who obey are worthy to pray.
A book that makes you pray right now, a book that lights the fire of prayer in your heart!

M. Bounds Prayer Classics 1 (First Book in the Series)

“Today, many people receive testimony because of large donations or outstanding talents.
But Bounds's point that "few people receive evidence because of the amazing things they accomplish through great faith and prayer" is painfully true.
Even though God values people who possess two important virtues: faith and prayer.
This book is not a book that emphasizes the necessity of prayer with only theories or fancy words about prayer, but a flamethrower of prayer that truly lights the fire of prayer in the 'heart of prayer.'

The most certain and clear characteristic that indicates that one is a child of God is
It is 'prayer'

The person Jesus Christ desires most is not the one who has accumulated a lot of knowledge.
What this era wants is not people with a lot of money or people with great social influence.
What Christ absolutely demands of all mankind now is that they be people of faith, that is, people of powerful prayer.
Prayer is not about shouting “Lord, Lord” in a clingy, habitual tone of voice.
Prayer is not a form of our language life, nor is it simply an act of calling someone's name.
Prayer is obedience.
Prayer must be built on the rock of obedience.
Only those who obey are qualified to pray.
The more we pray, the more we love God's Word and read it diligently.
Those who pray will read the Bible, and those who read the Bible will pray.
The God of the Bible and the God of prayer are the same.
There is no successful prayer without a burning desire.
People who have no desire often pretend to pray.
But when the holy fire of longing for God burns brightly in our hearts, we can move the throne of God and open the door to the infinite treasure house of grace.

Light the fire of heavenly prayer in my heart!
