People prefer the excitement and fresh stimulation that comes from new things.
Especially when modern people choose books, they tend to focus on obtaining information and knowledge that is immediately useful in their lives.
However, in order for Christians to properly approach and deeply explore the unchanging truths of Christianity, it is essential to take the time to read old books and listen to the words of old theologians.
Especially for those who have been practicing their faith since childhood and have learned about the basic core truths of Christianity such as ‘incarnation’, ‘Trinity’, and ‘salvation’, it is even more necessary to read Christian classics.
Classics help us rediscover truths that have become so familiar to us that we have lost interest in them, thinking they are no longer new.
Moreover, the more you read the classics, the more clearly they correct the errors of our time.
Christian classics contain immortal truths that have existed since the creation of this world, giving modern people the wisdom to live according to God's will.

In his preface, S. Lewis encourages readers to read old books.
He points out that the stereotype that 'old books' are difficult to read is a mistake, as it leads people to try to read 'modern books' that are ten times thicker.
He says that the arguments and positions of many scholars passed down through the centuries can easily lead us into error, and the only way to alleviate this is to read old books.
It also says that direct knowledge is worth more effort to acquire than indirect knowledge.

This book by Athanasius, a renowned theologian active in the 4th century, will bring a refreshing breeze to the minds of modern Christians.
And readers will have an enjoyable experience of turning the pages of the book in one breath from the moment they open the first page until they close the last.

Publisher's Review
Why did God come to this world in human form?
And why should we be amazed by this 'incarnation'?

In this book, Athanasius clearly explains the 'Incarnation' by dividing it into nine chapters.
It begins with creation and the fall, and continues with the death and resurrection of Christ, refuting the differing views of Jews and Gentiles regarding the incarnation.
It does not simply explain the concept of 'incarnation', but contains an apologetic argument.
At the time Athanasius wrote this, he was struggling to resist the constant attacks of the Arians and to refute their heresy, and so he wrote such a powerful and clear argument about the 'Incarnation', which we take for granted without question.

Athanasius says in chapter 1, “Now, in faith according to our holy system of belief, we must go a step further and consider how the Word became human and how he appeared divinely among us.
“The Jews scoff and the Greeks scorn, but we praise that mystery,” he says, guiding us as Christians to rediscover the incarnation and explore its deeper meaning throughout the book.

The sole reason God appeared in human form was to save us humans through the Father's love and goodness.
Because we have sinned, only God, the Word who created us in the beginning, can make us new.
We've heard the word "incarnation" countless times, and we can probably explain what it is to a non-Christian, but we should ask ourselves, have we ever been so moved by this amazing truth, or have we ever wondered at it?
Through this short book, I hope that all saints, and even those who do not believe in Christ, will come to believe in and know more deeply the living and working God.
