SUCCESS IS FOR YOU
Description
Book Introduction
The starting point of 『Revolution of Consciousness』 and 『Letting Go』
Unpublished manuscript by Dr. David Hawkins
“It's more inspiring than any book on success.”
- Amazon Book Review
“I want you to throw away all your ‘how to succeed’ books.”
A Guide to True Success from a World-Class Spiritual Master
Success Is for You, written by Dr. David Hawkins, a psychiatrist and world-renowned spiritual leader, has been published by Panmidong.
This is an unpublished manuscript discovered in 2012 when Dr. Hawkins's remains were sorted out after his death. It is his first work, written before 『Revolution of Consciousness』.
In this book, Dr. Hawkins reveals that the true source of success is not what we do, but our attitude toward the world.
In other words, success is not achieved through strenuous effort, but through the power of buoyancy that naturally arises. Therefore, if you establish an inner principle of being kind and friendly rather than trying to do something, wealth and fame will naturally follow.
This book captures the essence of Hawkins's thought, yet presents it in accessible language, clearly demonstrating how the business world and the inner lives of successful people work.

Into the book
Books about success usually explain 'how' to achieve success.
Now, there are three levels of life in the world.
A life where 'having' is important, a life where 'doing' is important, a life where 'being' is important.
Many authors will only explain how to 'act', but will not explain how to change the attitude of 'being' so that you can also 'own' well.
Success actually has nothing to do with fame or wealth.
Success is a matter of level of interest.
So, if you just 'become' a successful person, 'possession' will automatically follow.
--- p.17~18
There are no intermediate steps to fame and fortune.
The moment we understand something, we have acquired it.
To manifest what we have gained and watch it emerge into the world is merely a consequence of what has already happened.
Success is what happens 'out there' as a result of what has already happened 'in here'.
We've already got one of the best secrets.
The source of fame and success is 'inside' us, not 'out there'!
--- p.26
Now I want you all to stop trying so hard to succeed.
I want you to throw away all your 'how to succeed' books.
I hope you all become kind and friendly people.
Ironically, you can make more money in the world by simply being kind and friendly than by striving for success.
At this point, all I ask of you is this:
--- p.27
If people keep going to the same restaurant and asking, "Do you have Diet Coke?" and the staff keeps saying no, they have a recipe for failure:
Don't listen, don't react immediately, don't be observant.
Make it a practice to never please your customers, and resist with bravado and pride any ideas they might suggest.
--- p.59
Here we get one important principle.
All transactions take place within what we might call a "quality of experience."
To be successful, you need to focus on the quality of your customer experience.
The focus should be on the quality of the customer experience, not on selling to the customer, collecting money from the customer, closing the deal, or ripping off the customer.
--- p.69
A truly creative person is one who is caring, sharing, compassionate, and engaged, imagining what other people's experiences might be like and genuinely striving to create the best possible experiences for them.
The best substitute for this mindset, and one that many businesses rely on for survival, is low prices.
Without this mindset, they rely on cheap prices and large quantities.
If they are not good at what they do, they have no choice but to do more of it to make up the difference.
--- p.92
There is only one customer in this world.
As long as you know who your customers are, you can sell anything or achieve anything without any difficulty.
This customer's name is 'human nature'.
Whether it's a foreign language course or a car lease, the reason we sign up for or commit to a service is because it appeals to some aspect of our human nature.
There is only one customer, and that customer is human nature itself.
Each individual customer is merely a representation of human nature in a particular case.
What we have to offer them is something universal.
--- p.93
Reputation.
The secret lies in these very words.
You don't have to rack your brain trying to win the competition.
If you have a good reputation, you can win without any effort.
This doesn't mean that marketing techniques or publicity aren't necessary.
But let's not forget that these are just means to attract attention.
Once a potential customer shows interest, we need to make them feel genuine, high quality, and authentic, and that can't happen without genuine authenticity.
--- p.145
If you want to make a lot of money and share the profits, you should make it a rule to give away 5 percent of your business profits.
The method for determining this 5 percent is based on a principle I have learned through long experience.
In other words, 95 percent of the problems and headaches that plague us come from 5 percent of our customers.
The pursuit of every last penny can cost you dearly in time, energy, image, lawsuits, defense, insurance premiums, employee turnover, marital discord, nerves, stomachaches, and ulcers.
--- p.165
If we love the book of life as a whole and are not captivated by any one chapter, our life will be a success.
The rule for doing so is to benefit and help, encourage, bring happiness and hope to everyone's life, and recognize their worth.
It is to never give up on the intention to honor life itself.
Success comes from understanding the nature of life.
--- p.183
How long does it take to become successful? The answer is: in the blink of an eye.
It takes exactly 1 second.
The moment we decide to 'exist' with a certain attitude, we have already achieved success.
Success isn't 'out there'.
Success is not our possession.
It's not even our activity.
Activities are only helpful, possessions are only decoration.
It is our existence that brings success.
All that is required is to decide what attitude to have in existence.
No master's degrees, diplomas, correspondence courses, boring lectures, or workshops are required.

Publisher's Review
“I want you to be kind and friendly people.”
A Complete Introduction to the Deep and Broad Thoughts of Hawkins
What does this book mean by kindness and friendliness? It's a caring, sharing, affectionate, and engaging mindset, a mindset that imagines what others might experience and sincerely strives to create the best possible experience for them.
This book points out that when this mindset is lacking, people often make the mistake of offering a large quantity of goods at a low price or relying solely on marketing or promotional techniques.
In any business, the only customer is human nature, and its success or failure depends on the experience itself, where customers perceive superior quality and authenticity.
In other words, success can be achieved by allowing customers to experience kindness and friendliness through products or services.
To explain this easily, the author cites his own success story as well as numerous examples from restaurants, businesses, and corporations.
It provides easy-to-understand explanations of key concepts that form the basis of the theory of consciousness exploration, such as power, force, and attractor patterns, and serves as a guide to the deep and broad thought of Hawkins.
“Success comes from understanding the nature of life.”
Self-help books that can be applied in everyday life
This book not only provides the fundamental principles and insights for success, but also provides practical, step-by-step instructions for putting them into practice.
Even if you're new to Dr. Hawkins's work, this book will teach you how to use the power of the mind to focus and achieve what you want.
※ Dr. Hawkins' 9 Steps to Success
[Step 1] Examine your inner principles first, and don't even touch external matters before that.
[Step 2] Check if what you are about to do is something you enjoy.
[Step 3] Figure out if what you're trying to do is actually something someone needs.
[Step 4] Satisfy all five senses, even those areas you don't know well.
[Step 5] Ask yourself, how much of my success is due to attraction and how much is due to promotion?
[Step 6] Remember, you need to have customers who trust you in many ways.
[Step 7] Remember, please human nature, your only customer.
Step 8: Help others build on their strengths, but be careful not to pander to their weaknesses.
[Step 9] Never forget, sharing your success with others is the path to success.
