Publisher's Review
Approach children's psychological difficulties through various psychological counseling theories and picture books.
Understanding and approaching children's minds is an important starting point for psychological counseling.
But understanding what children think and feel and how they view the world is not an easy journey.
In recent years, the psychological and emotional problems children face in schools have become increasingly complex.
We see that a variety of factors, including academic stress, peer conflict, family problems, and gaming and internet addiction, are intertwined to place a heavy burden on children's minds.
This has led to emotional difficulties such as anxiety, depression, and anger, as well as problems such as impulsive behavior and social isolation, and increasingly, teachers who are able to support these children are reaching their limits.
In this reality where it is difficult to reach the depths of children's inner selves with only existing educational methods, we judged that a more effective counseling approach that teachers can utilize in the field was needed. Therefore, we connected 22 field counseling cases to picture books to make it easier to reach children's hearts.
The meaning and value of this book
This book organically connects various psychological counseling theories with picture books to provide concrete examples and guidelines that can be applied in educational settings.
Through this book, I hope teachers will learn new ways to use picture books to reach their students' inner selves. Through the process of helping students recover and grow emotionally, teachers will gain confidence in their own counseling skills and have the opportunity to connect more deeply with their students.
Furthermore, I hope that we can contribute to forming a collaborative community where teachers, students, and parents work together to support children's psychological growth and development.
I hope that the revitalization of psychological counseling through picture books in educational settings will go beyond simple problem solving and become a cornerstone that will lead to students' emotional recovery and positive growth, helping them live healthier and happier lives.
