A Thousand Plateaus
A Thousand Plateaus
Description
Book Introduction
『A Thousand Plateaus』, which forms part of Deleuze and Guattari's series along with 『Anti-Oedipus』, has been translated and published.
Readers who have heard of concepts like rhizome, war machine, territorialization, deterritorialization, and reterritorialization in Western philosophy seminars or introductory books on modern French philosophy will find this book particularly welcome.
Now, I can read in Korean the origins of concepts that I had been completely confused about and check them out for myself.

According to the translator, this book has many doors to enter, meaning that its breadth is wide, leaving room for the reader to delve into even one, but it is not easy to actually read.
There are some parts that are relatively easy to read, and there are also parts that you might end up putting down the book if you try too hard, so the translator's advice is not to be too greedy, but to find the parts that suit you and conquer them little by little.

This book, consisting of 15 chapters, covers every field of philosophy, science, and art, including music, art, literary theory, national theory, and psychoanalytic criticism.
Readers who trust Foucault should take on the challenge of believing his words that "the 21st century will one day become the age of Deleuze."
With the attitude of 'How many of the thousand plateaus can I climb?'

Into the book
This book is the sequel and final volume of 『Capitalism and Schizophrenia』, the first volume of which was 『Anti-Oedipus』.

This book is made up of "plateaus" rather than chapters.
We will try to explain why later (and why each plateau is dated).
Each plateau can be read more or less independently, except for the conclusion, which must be read at the very end.
