Into the book
“The Lord said to his disciples, ‘Come to me and live with me 24 hours a day for three years, talk with me, listen to me, work with me, and then rest, eat and sleep with me.’
The Bible says that Jesus chose them so that they could be with him.
“That’s 168 hours a week!”
---From “Christ is the world’s only hope”

“Living in God’s presence is not an experiment.
This has already been proven by countless people.
In fact, the spiritual giants of all times have known it.
Even today, Christians who live like that live more passionate and wonderful lives and are constantly testifying to the Lord.
Those who were slaves to evil found true freedom through it.
Both Catholicism and Protestantism hold living in God's presence as the core of their faith.
Both conservative and progressive denominations recognize that this is exactly what they need.”
---From “Christ is the world’s only hope”

“When you read a newspaper, magazine, or book, read its contents to Jesus.
Glance at the empty chair or picture of Jesus, where you assume He is sitting, and continue to talk to Him inwardly about what you are reading.
"
---From "When Reading a Book"

“There is no way to keep our thoughts noble and wholesome as much as to make every thought that comes into our heads a ‘conversation with Jesus.’
Whatever kind of evil thoughts come into our minds, we must say this:
'Lord, this thought is not appropriate for a conversation with you.
Help me to think of you in my head.' The result is immediate 'purity.'
"
---From "When Lost in Thought"

“The greatest benefit we gain from talking with God is intimacy with Him.
We can have continuous moments of ecstatic heaven.
“How foolish and unfortunate are those who miss out on this greatest joy of life, when such a thing can happen even while walking alone!”
---From "When I Walk Alone"

“Women can walk intimately with the Lord while cooking, washing dishes, cleaning, sewing, and raising children at home.”
---From "When I'm at Home"

“If we do not abandon even one corner of our lives that is selfish or evil, we are rejecting God’s perfect rule, and one small bug will eventually ruin the entire fruit.
We must be completely faithful.”

---From "The Price You Have to Pay When Playing a 1-Minute Game"

How can we allow Christ to live in our present?

This book [Frank Lubach's One Minute Game] was not originally a book.
It was a pamphlet printed and distributed in 1956 by Lubak, an evangelical missionary, under the title “One Minute Game.”
This pamphlet was quickly distributed from hand to hand to countless people.
Every time I saw the pamphlet, I was inspired and tried the '1-minute game' he suggested.
In this age of sorrow, spiritual uncertainty, and poverty, Christians have encountered Christ, experienced Him, and been transformed through the 'One Minute Game' presented by Lubak.

Where does Christian hope lie? Disillusioned with all human endeavors, they now find their only hope in becoming like Christ.
To be with God, to abide in Christ, is to allow Christ to live within us and in our circumstances.
Anyone who receives Christ in himself is sure to be transformed.
No matter who he is.
And they will transform families, transform this society, transform this nation, and transform the world! So how can we allow Christ to live in our present? The answer is simple.
These are things that even children can understand and put into practice.

Walking with God every waking moment

In this book, Lubak encourages us to think of God in our hearts every day, every hour, every minute, and every second.
It is to invite the Lord into all our words and actions.
When reading a book, read with the Lord, and when eating, sit at the table with the Lord and eat.
I talk to him even when I walk down the street.
“Lord, what do you want from me at this moment?” “Lord, what can I do for that person?” Students can also invite Him to take tests with them at school.
Even when I have to go out in front of others and give a presentation, I invite the Lord into that place.
“Lord, don’t leave me alone. Be with me here.” Also, salespeople pray inwardly when they meet customers.
Then, not only will you win the hearts of your customers, but your business will also prosper.
It is said that salespeople who pray for their customers while introducing a product are much more likely to make a sale.

As such, the practice of walking with God that Lubak suggests is easy and simple.
These are things that anyone can do, and they don't require any payment.
Lubak called it the 'one-minute game'.
It contains the intention to remember God and not forget Him even for a minute or a second.
I also used the word 'game' because it is a very happy and enjoyable experience.
But it won't take long to discover that this is more than just a game.

Why 'The Game with Minutes'?

The 'One Minute Game' is a new form of walking with God practice based on Brother Lawrence's 'Practice of God's Presence'.
Brother Lawrence was a cook in a French monastery in the 1600s.
He was a man who spent his entire life as a monk, repairing the shoes of his fellow monks, cooking, and cleaning, while having a deep communion with God.
Lubak, following in the footsteps of Brother Lawrence, attempts to practice God's presence in another form: the 'One Minute Game.'
It very specifically suggests that we practice thinking of God and walking with Him every minute and every second.

As you play the '1 Minute Game', you will find yourself praying constantly, naturally realizing God's will and living a life focused on God.
Become friends with God and share your deepest secrets.
As we become more intimate with Christ and spend more time with Him, the forces of darkness within us, the anxieties, fears, poverty, sorrow, and dissatisfaction in life will disappear.
Christ will be clearly revealed through our thoughts, prayers, and words.
That is the best choice we Christians can make as we live in these dark times.

Recommendation from Pastor Ji-Woong Park of Naesu-dong Church

“When choosing a book, there are times when I pick it up without hesitation just by looking at the author’s name.
For me, that name is 'Frank Lubach'.
His life, in which he struggled to walk with God without missing even a moment of His presence, gives us a megaton-level shock and inspiration.
He lived his life determined not to miss a single minute of the 24 hours in a day, so I think he deserves the nickname of 'the modern-day Enoch.'
In this little book, we learn about his struggles and worries.
His every word is enough to make the vacuum tubes of our souls vibrate for a long time.
“I am so happy and grateful to be able to read this precious book in Korean.”
