Pilgrim to pilgrim
Description
Book Introduction
While pondering and searching for answers to the questions, ‘Who is God? Who am I?’
An essay for all pilgrims walking the path of faith!
The author, who spent his adolescence, college years, and young adulthood in the United States, has lived as a missionary for over 30 years with a unique cultural background as a Korean-American.
He describes himself as a restless soul and an outsider, confessing that he suffers from the pain of wandering on the margins and boundaries.
However, because of this background, missionary Cheong Kim was able to see people and things differently with a new perspective through the 'voice of the periphery' and experience various moments of God's work in his journey of faith.
We are all pilgrims walking the path of faith.
As you walk that path, you will encounter danger and pain, experience unexpected joy, and reach a state of deep enlightenment.
Ultimately, our lives are a process of wrestling with the question, 'Who is God? Who am I?'
This process is a pilgrimage, and as we walk this path, we must expect to meet God, who gives us true freedom.
The two disciples walking on the road to Emmaus did not recognize Jesus, even though he suddenly appeared to them.
Although they had many questions and unresolved problems, when the Word came to their mind, their hearts were warmed and they came to recognize Jesus.
We, who walk the pilgrimage road, are no different from these two disciples.
This book will be a fellow pilgrim who will walk alongside you on your life's journey until your eyes are opened and you come to know Jesus.

Translator's Preface
introduction
An imperfect journey toward perfect love
An attempt to understand rationally what God is like.
A fierce quest to find out who I am
Jesus is my rock star
A confused spirituality with Seoul (Soul)
Now, I miss my father
The Gospel as a Gift Economy
A country turned upside down
A love that transcends certainty and confidence
Enjoy freedom and joy by letting go and letting go
Living like a river flowing
God in all that I hold
My cell as a prison and a temple
An invitation to wander for me
Solitude that fills the world's hunger
Wake up to be fully alive
The hardship of becoming a friend and teacher to us
To awaken from my inner desires, inner pain, and dreams
Navigating the Illusion and the Unseen
Thank God for my existence and the existence of others.
Speak obliquely
A gift of simplicity and solidarity
Who are you listening to?
Realizing that this world is bigger than 'my' world
Safe Space as a Modern Sanctuary
Awaken your heart towards love
Living a hidden and unknown life
Embracing both the saint and the sinner within me
Realizing that my reality may not be the true reality

Publisher's Review
“The most tragic thing in life is not living your own life.”
Even if we walk the path toward one God, that path may be winding for some and straight for others.
Even if you are going well, sometimes you can get lost.
We are unique and distinctive beings created by God.
Just as each person's appearance is different, the pilgrimage path that each person must walk is also different.
In this book, the author says that living one's life faithfully and in one's own way is the way to glorify God and to enjoy the true truth.
He has been a missionary for a long time, running at a frantic pace and living a life that has become so exhausting that he can no longer endure it, but now he wants to slow down and live a life in which he pursues his true self and freedom more deeply.
This book, filled with inspiration, reflections, and insights gleaned from this process, does not attempt to fit readers into any particular framework, but simply guides them to find their own answers and reflect on themselves.
I hope that through this book, readers will think about what kind of spirituality they should have on their own pilgrimage.
As Irenaeus said, “The glory of God lies in our living fully,” I hope that we all walk our own pilgrimage and, no matter what path we take, live faithfully, thereby giving great glory to God.
“I am a pilgrim on a journey.
When I think about who I am and how God created me, I realize that I am unique and distinctive, yet at the same time I am on this journey with countless other pilgrims.
As a pilgrim, I have lost my way many times and even fallen flat on the ground.
I also learned what deep hunger was like, and faced danger and hurt.
I've been overwhelmed by breathtaking panoramic views from the top of mountains, walked along dark paths, found unexpected joy in small wonders, and sometimes even met other pilgrims.
So, as a pilgrim, I began to write for and to my fellow pilgrims.”
