Into the book
The Pauline Epistles are letters written by the Apostle Paul to churches and individuals.
Each letter is set against the backdrop of various issues facing the church at the time, but at the center of all Paul's responses is always the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians was written in response to issues that had been raised in the church at Corinth, such as division, sexual immorality, idolatry, disorder in worship, and controversy over the resurrection.
Paul proclaims that only the gospel of the cross is the wisdom and power of God, and he exhorts the saints of the Corinthian church to maintain their holy identity and live in a way worthy of the gospel.
--- p.16 From “Paul’s Epistles 1”

Most of Paul's letters have a common flow.
It is structured to first proclaim the grace of salvation that God has accomplished through Jesus Christ, and then to advise how the saints who have received that grace should live.
In the first half of the book of Galatians, it proclaims freedom from the law and the absoluteness of grace, and in the second half, it emphasizes that this freedom should not be manifested in license, but in love and service in the Holy Spirit.
--- p.26 From “Paul’s Epistles 2”

One of the phrases that appears repeatedly throughout Paul’s letters is “in Christ.”
This is an expression that reveals the identity of the saint, and indicates that the saint is a being united with Jesus.
Paul describes this union with various metaphors, such as head and body, building and cornerstone, "clothing oneself with Christ," and bridegroom and bride.
--- p.36 From “Paul’s Epistles 3”

Hebrews declares that Jesus is greater than the angels, greater than Moses, greater than the priests of the order of Aaron, and greater than the angels, greater than the angels, greater than the priests of the order of Melchizedek.
Jesus accomplished eternal redemption through His one sacrifice, offering Himself, and fulfilled the Old Testament sacrifices.
Therefore, the author urges the saints not to return to the law, but to hold fast to their faith even in trials.
--- p.46 From “General Correspondence 1”

The letters belonging to the General Epistles, although short in length, not only convey profound gospel truths but also contain practical lessons for life.
These letters urge us to keep the faith, hold on to the hope of the end times, and live in love and holiness even in the face of persecution and false teachings.
--- p.56 From “General Correspondence 2”

Many people find the Book of Revelation difficult, but its big picture is clear.
Although symbolism and vision abound, the central message of the Book of Revelation is the kingship of the resurrected Jesus Christ.
The central message of the Book of Revelation is that Jesus will ultimately triumph as King of kings, and so the church must bear witness to Him and persevere without being swayed by the deceptions of this age.
--- p.66 From “Revelation 1”

The Book of Revelation shows how God's promises prophesied in the Old Testament are completely fulfilled.
The new heavens, new earth, and new Jerusalem promised in Isaiah and Ezekiel are now a reality.
There will be no more tears or pain, and God and the Lamb themselves will be the light and temple that illuminates all nations.
--- p.76 From “Revelation 2”
