People of God 1
Description
Book Introduction
People of God is a textbook that teaches the history of the Bible and the life of faith through the 50 or so people whom God spoke to from Genesis to Revelation.
Divided into Volumes 1 and 2, "People of God" consists of 25 weeks each and is a children's Bible study book with easy-to-understand illustrations for teachers, parents, and children.
The author was concerned that children's Bible study materials from religious groups or missionary organizations mixed various topics or had complex learning processes, making it difficult to establish a solid foundation and grasp the main message.
In missionary and church education settings, there was a need for teaching materials that could convey the content of the Bible in an easy, simple, and accurate way, and that could be learned through fun experiential activities.
God's People will be a great help when used as a curriculum in Sunday school, along with sermons and follow-up activities. It will also be a good teaching material for parents and children to read and study the Bible together at home and pass on their faith through various activities.

Into the book
Abraham obeyed God's incredible and surprising command.
When Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac on Mount Moriah, God quickly stopped him.
Abraham offered a sacrifice of thanksgiving with a ram that God had provided in his stead.
Abraham called that place 'Jehovah-jireh.'
God praised Abraham's faith.
“Abraham, you truly believed and feared me! Your descendants who believe will be blessed.”
Text 26p (From Abraham, the father of obedience and faith…)
Pharaoh appointed Joseph as the prime minister of Egypt, and Joseph ruled Egypt well.
After the good years, the bad years began.
Joseph's brothers heard that there was grain in Egypt, so they came to buy grain.
Joseph met his father Jacob and his brothers, cried, revealed himself, and forgave them.
“My brothers sold me into slavery, but God was with me.
“God had a plan to save many lives through me.”
Text 38p (From Joseph's Dream Come True in 8 Weeks)
The first difficulty came.
There was no boat to cross the Jordan River.
Joshua followed God's command and had the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant enter the river first.
The river parted and dry land was revealed.
The people walked across the Jordan River and entered the land of Canaan.
The second difficulty came.
The great and strong city of Jericho closed its gates and would not open the way.
Joshua marched around the city with the people once a day for six days, following God's command.
On the seventh day, they circled the temple seven times, blowing the trumpets, and at the end shouted with a loud voice.
The walls of Jericho collapsed by themselves.
The people won a great victory.
Text 53p (From Joshua, the New Leader of Week 12)
Samuel became a priest, judge, and prophet and ruled over Israel.
He also defeated the Philistine enemy through prayer.
He anointed Saul and David as the first and second kings of Israel.
He taught kings to live according to God's word.
He taught the Israelites to obey God's words.
“Yes, God, speak.
“I will listen.” Samuel never stopped praying his entire life.
I became a person who listened to God's word all my life, lived by the word, and spread the word.
Text 74P (17 From Samuel, who grew up in the house of God…)
“Peace be with you.” That evening, the resurrected Jesus came to the place where the disciples were gathered.
The disciples were very happy when they saw Jesus.
But Thomas, who was not present that day, said:
“I will never believe unless I see the nail marks in his hands and the spear mark in his side.” Eight days later, the resurrected Jesus came back to his disciples.
“Thomas, put your finger here and put it into my hands and side.” Then Thomas fell down at Jesus’ feet and worshiped him.
“My Lord and my God!” said Jesus.
“You must see me to believe. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Text 105p (People Who Met the Resurrected Jesus (Easter Sunday)…)

Publisher's Review
This book is a textbook that teaches the history and life of faith that flows throughout the Bible, focusing on the stories of the characters that appear in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Author Heo Oe-suk, focusing on the characters God spoke of, chose 50 characters for children's Bible study, organizing them into 25 weeks in Volume 1 and 25 weeks in Volume 2. By studying a total of 50 weeks, a person can establish the foundation of the entire Bible.
This book, a children's Bible study material that teaches God's word through characters from the Bible, is an excellent resource not only for missionary work and church education, but also for use at home when parents and children worship together.
Because this textbook presents God's word simply, accurately, and in an interesting way, anyone who wants to know God's word, even without extensive knowledge of the Bible, can follow the book's instructions and find themselves immersed in the joy of the Bible without even realizing it.
For many years, the author has dedicated himself to researching and writing teaching materials for the next generation and mission field, and has compiled and condensed the secrets God has revealed to him to complete this book.
The author has been pouring all his energy into introducing children to people of faith whom God has called upon every Sunday at the church he serves, ensuring that the legacy of faith becomes life and flows into the children's souls.
This book is not a textbook that simply reads God's Word, listens to the sermon, and concludes with a conclusion. Instead, it guides readers to think more deeply, encourages them to pray out loud, helps them read the Word out loud and engrave it in their spirit, and connects them to follow-up activities based on the Word, allowing them to immerse themselves in the Word with their whole body and soul.
The unique feature of this book is that, based on the author's extensive experience, the Bible is presented in simple sentences, yet transparent and easy to understand, so that everyone, from children and beginners to seasoned believers, can learn the Bible together.
And the illustrations by the new illustrator Jeong Hyeon-su add a fresh spiritual vitality to the words.
Just by looking at the picture, you can see the character of the person and the message the Bible is trying to convey.
No amount of fancy wording from the publisher would be enough to introduce this book.
The moment you open the first page of this book, you will know its value.
