Speaking of the tabernacle
Description
Book Introduction
The Tabernacle and Jesus Christ
How did God feel when Adam and Eve were driven out of the Garden of Eden? From then on, Immanuel became God's dream.
Since our relationship with God was severed due to sin, salvation is to be with God again.
In other words, God's dream is our salvation.
Jesus came for that dream of God.
And He was crucified, and Emmanuel was realized through the descent of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.
When our salvation is complete, God's dream will be perfectly fulfilled.
The tabernacle is a part of God's dream.
When we look at the tabernacle, we can see what God wants from us.
We can know how we should live and who we are.
Later, after Solomon built the temple, the temple replaced the tabernacle.
This kind of temple is very much an Old Testament concept.
The temple as a building no longer exists.
Just as a palace is a palace because it is where the king resides, the temple contained the Ark of the Covenant, which symbolized God's presence.
But now we are the temple given by the Holy Spirit.
The common expressions about temple construction or temple relocation are all incorrect.
It should be called the construction of a chapel or the relocation of a church.
True temple building is not about building a luxurious building, but about standing upright in our faith.

Publisher's Review

When I was a pastor, there was someone who really liked my sermons.
When the sermons reached a certain volume, they were bound into master copies.
I once lectured on the tabernacle at a youth retreat, and I made a copy of it for each of my friends.
As it happened, there was an elder who ran a publishing company at the church where my friend served.
He happened to see it in the trading room and contacted me to say he wanted to publish it as a book.
That's how my first book, "The Difficult Tabernacle Made Easy," came out.
Although the book was published in 1999, the manuscript was written in 1997.
At that time, I was an evangelist who had just graduated from seminary.
What did I, a man like me, know about the tabernacle? It seems the saying "ignorance is bliss" holds true.
In fact, it would be more accurate to say that I lectured because I did not know much about the tabernacle, rather than saying that I lectured because I knew the tabernacle well.
Every time I read the Bible, I had a headache because of the tabernacle, so I thought that maybe I could learn it by giving a lecture, so I made a kind of escape.
It's been nearly 30 years.
Suddenly, I remembered parts where I thought, "Oh! That's not it. I misspoke."
The verse in Job 23:10, “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold,” was misinterpreted as Job’s confession of faith (a verse that many people still misunderstand today). The story of Uzzah’s death while moving the Ark of the Covenant was also misinterpreted.
It is often said that the Ark of the Covenant contained the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments, the jar of manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, but the idea of this has changed.
It was also regrettable that the high priest's garments were omitted while the tabernacle was being built.
I've been thinking about doing a revised edition for quite some time now.
I kept putting it off day after day, but when I finally got around to it, there were more than one or two places that needed fixing.
Above all, “The Difficult Tabernacle Made Easy” is a lecture aimed at young people who have little understanding of the Bible.
It's quite childish.
There were a lot more areas that needed to be trimmed than I thought.
Dog, did you try to fix it up and end up remodeling it? That's why I changed the title.
I suddenly remember the youth group winter retreat in 1997.
Time has passed so quickly that the young people who had been listening to the lecture with bright eyes until past midnight have now become middle-aged people in their fifties.
Where are you now, and what are you doing? Above all, how is your religious life going?
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Elder Dongseong Lee and Deaconess Eunsil Kim, who always bound my sermon manuscripts during my time as an assistant pastor.
Thanks to that, I have written over twenty books so far.
I apologize for the late thank you.
I also express my deepest gratitude to Elder Bang Ju-seok and Director Jeong Jin-hyeok of the Peter’s Book of Confucianism, who worked hard for the publication, and to the Peter’s Book of Confucianism family.
I put my hands together in the hope that the grace I realized through the tabernacle will be conveyed to all who read this book.
