Church, Beyond the Walls, Into the World 348

Into the book
The gospel is not simply information.
It is the power to transform our lives and to send our spiritual roots deep into the earth of grace.
To remain unshaken in the midst of the world's chaos, we must place the truth of the gospel at the center of our lives.
What are you most focused on at this very moment? Are you being swept away by the noise of the world, or are you listening intently to the message of the Gospel? To live an unwavering life like a tree planted by streams of water, we must focus on the Gospel.

--- p.16

Christianity is not a religion that achieves salvation through human actions, knowledge, experience, or zeal.
Going to church for a long time and participating in various religious activities does not automatically make you a Christian.
Hearing the work of salvation that Jesus performed on the cross, believing and accepting that it was for me—that is the starting point of faith.
Faith is not simply a religious habit.
When we hear the Word of God and realize anew the grace of salvation He has accomplished, our faith becomes alive.
If your faith has faded, you must stand before the gospel again.
Faith is not a one-time decision, but a journey that begins anew every day in the Gospel.

--- p.18

Therefore, the most important thing when reading the Bible is to pray for the Holy Spirit to give us understanding in our hearts.
Rather than focusing solely on literal interpretation, we must deeply meditate on the spiritual truths God gives us through the Bible.
The correct way to read the Bible is to read it not as mere text, but as the living word of God.

--- p.57

A spiritually dead person cannot seek or believe in God on his own.
Therefore, ‘faith’ is not a human choice of will, but a gift given through God’s grace.
It is more accurate to say that I ‘believe’ rather than ‘believe’ through the grace of God.
Therefore, predestination begins with a correct understanding of the existential state of human beings.
The Bible declares that humans are in a state of spiritual inability due to original sin and personal sin.
Therefore, no one can attain salvation without God's sovereign grace.

--- p.82

Faith is not transmitted through knowledge, but through life.
Many churches today are experiencing a loss of younger generations and a breakdown in the transmission of faith.
However, the Bible clearly teaches that the most important starting point of faith is the family.
The church is a community of one body, and the legacy of faith becomes stronger when it is passed down through the family.
The family is the most fundamental community established by God and is where faith first takes root.

--- p.137

Gratitude is not just an emotion; it is an essential attitude of faith.
Gratitude is the most powerful force that can change your life.
A grateful person finds blessings in life, while a complainer finds unhappiness in the same life.
When we consider the grace God has bestowed upon us, we realize that we have already received so many blessings.
Become a gratitude expert starting today.
Then, God's greater joy and peace will fill your life.

--- p.163

Likewise, tears of repentance shed before God wash away the sin and despair that have seeped into our souls, and become the beginning of healing and renewal.
The fulfillment of life is running the race of faith to the end.
What will matter before God's judgment seat on the last day is not how smooth your life has been or how much you have accomplished.
It is more important to meet Jesus, who guides us through the wilderness of life, and to walk the path of faith with Him, enduring with tears until the end.

--- p.172

No matter how dark the world may be, there is hope if the church does not lose its light.
People feel safe under street lights.
Thanks to that light, love, not fear, sprouts and conversation blossoms.
Thanks to streetlights, darkness does not cover the world.
The same goes for the church.
Where there is church, there is peace instead of fear.
Love blossoms under the light of the church.
The church should be a community that provides peace and rest to people in the world, like a streetlight.

--- p.220

Even today, church revival begins with prayer.
A church where the flame of prayer lives will not be shaken in any crisis.
Come to the place of prayer.
Pray out loud, be specific, and persevere in your prayers as you approach God, and you will gain greater spiritual power.
When the flame of prayer is rekindled, the church will become stronger.

--- p.245

This is the paradox of the cross.
The world tells us to live by our own strength, but the Christian faith teaches us that when we die, true life begins within us.
Many people today seek a Christianity without the cross.
They use faith as a tool for a successful life and seek to live a life of faith for their own benefit.
However, Christianity without the cross will ultimately become a distorted faith.
There is no other way to victory than the way Jesus went.
The cross is not something that can be avoided.
We must choose either to avoid the cross or to die on it.
But if we reject the cross, our faith will be reduced to a mere religious formality, and we will not be able to experience the power of Christ's resurrection.
The cross is the only way to resurrection.

--- p.261

In this way, the church should not be a closed fence, but an open space.
The church building should not be a mere physical space, but a tool for realizing the kingdom of God.
The building is not the church, the people are the church.
Therefore, the church should aim for community expansion rather than building expansion.
The saints should focus on caring for souls, not maintaining buildings.
The church must become an open space that communicates with the local community and builds the kingdom of God.
We must move forward with the holy imagination and vision given by the Holy Spirit so that the worship space given to us can become a living space for the gospel.
