Buddhist life and studies
Description
Book Introduction
If you want to live a blessed life, look back on your life now.
Hyorim Publishing, a publisher specializing in Buddhist books, has published 『Buddhist Life and Study』, a collection of Buddhist sermons by Venerable Uryong, a senior monk of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, as the 6th volume of the Buddhist Books in Your Hand series.
Buddhism consistently teaches this.
If I, the master of the great universe, do my job well, no one will deceive me.
But we live our lives being deceived by others, by those around us, and by saints.
This is a story about 'living as one's own master without being deceived by anyone.'
But this doesn't happen just by sitting still and pretending to live.

Publisher's Review
If you want to live a blessed life, look back on your life now.
Hyorim Publishing, a publisher specializing in Buddhist books, has published 『Buddhist Life and Study』, a collection of Buddhist sermons by Venerable Uryong, a senior monk of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, as the 6th volume of the Buddhist Books in Your Hand series.
Buddhism teaches that 'I am the master of the universe.'
"You are the master of the great universe. Why do you keep failing to trust your own strength and instead following others? Live a life that returns to your true self."
Buddhism consistently teaches this.
If I, the master of the great universe, do my job well, no one will deceive me.
But we live our lives being deceived by others, by those around us, and by saints.
Why am I being deceived? Because I am not acting as the master.
I am the original master of the great universe, but I am being dragged around, having lost my original power and mystical functions.
What are you drawn to? Drawn by your eyes, by your ears, by your nose, by your tongue, by touch, by time, by work.
How foolish we are, caught up in a whirlwind and living our lives without even realizing that we are being deceived!
Since I am the original owner, I must live as the owner for 24 hours a day.
Since I am the master of the great universe, and the great universe is my body, I have no need to be ruled by anyone.
'Live with confidence, knowing that you are the master.' This is what Buddhism teaches.
Master Joju said:
“Everyone in the world is dragged around by time all day long, but I drag time along.”
This is a story about 'living as one's own master without being deceived by anyone.'
But this doesn't happen just by sitting still and pretending to live.
If you just live your life so-so and let the years pass by, you won't be able to live as the main character no matter how vivid your life may be.
So what should we do? We need to study to become the main character.
In Buddhism, there are many study methods that involve becoming the main character, such as meditation, studying sutras, chanting, concentration, and giving, but the destination of these studies is one.
All the stories told in Buddhist scriptures are about 'I am the protagonist of the great universe'.
It is said, "The entire universe is mine. Why don't you know it? Know it well so that you can use it as you wish."
'When you need blessings, use blessings; when you need virtue, use virtue; when you need wisdom, use wisdom; when you need material things, use material things as you see fit.' If you look at the principle, you can easily achieve these wishes.
But we don't easily achieve our wishes.
Why is it that we, the masters of the great universe, cannot easily achieve our wishes?
Please check carefully.
Is it possible that my heart is entangled in grime, preventing me from living a comfortable and blessed life? I pray that I may cleanse myself of this grime, return to my original place, and live as a happy master in the great universe.
