Book Introduction
『The Evolution of Shang Han Lun』 is a Korean translation of 『Song Yi Jeon Shang Han Lun Go (宋以前傷寒論考)』, published in Japan in 2007.
The three authors are all doctors specializing in oriental medicine in Japan, and are experts who have studied together in a reading group on 『Shanghanron Koju (傷寒論攷注)』, a work by Mori Rishi (森立之), the culmination of the Edo period textual criticism school.
By comparing and analyzing various ancient Shang Han literature, including the Songpan 『Shang Han Lun』 and 『Taiping Sheng Hui Bang』, the historical evolution of the Shang Han Lun was revealed.
In particular, by examining the Shang Han Lie and the Ga Bul Gap Pyeon, which had not been given much attention in previous studies, we were able to solve the long-standing questions about the Shang Han Theory.
This book is full of research results that overturn conventional wisdom, including how the pathology and treatment of Samyangsam-eumbyeong (Yukgyeongbyeong) have changed.
I recommend this book as a must-read for all students and doctors of Oriental medicine who want to know the truth about Shang Han Lun.
