Poetry Creation Theory
Poetry Creation Theory
Description
Book Introduction
This book is a guide to poetry writing.

It is designed to open the path to poetic thought and guide the process and practice of poetry creation to those who dream of becoming a poet, those who have started writing poetry but are hesitant about how to continue, or those who are just taking their first steps into the world of poetry.
To write poetry, you need to ask yourself what poetic is and concretize your thoughts.
It is also important to read the works of various poets and develop your taste.

This book is divided into four parts.
Part 1 covers the process from poetic discovery and conception to refinement.
Through Chapter 1, 'The Uniqueness of Poetry', Chapter 2, 'Language and Ideation', Chapter 3, 'Poetry and Imagination', Chapter 4, 'Structure and Form', and Chapter 5, 'Revision and Rearrangement', you can understand the specific process and methodology of poetry creation.
Part 2 covers the main concepts of poetry theory and the basic principles of poetic composition.
Chapter 6, ‘Image’, Chapter 7, ‘Metaphor’, Chapter 8, ‘Poetry and Story’, and Chapter 9, ‘Poetry and Space-Time’ fall into this category.
By reading and appreciating the major works of modern Korean poetry introduced in each chapter, you will be able to see what kind of poetic effect each major concept and principle produces.
Part 3 deals with the problem of reasoning necessary in the process of writing poetry.
Through Chapter 10, 'Literary Tradition and Creativity,' Chapter 11, 'Interpretation and Intention,' and Chapter 12, 'Poetry and Boundary Thinking,' we will examine the points of thought for poetic creation and the practical aspects of poetry writing.
Part 4 deals with the problem of the 'self' that writes poetry.
In Chapter 13, "The Alchemy of the Self," Chapter 14, "Poetry and Identity," and Chapter 15, "What Will Become," the author questions and explores the issues of the poetic self, writing poetry about "me" and identity, and poetic writing and its possibilities.
