Dismantling of the University in 2040
Description
Book Introduction
2040… We no longer imagine universities as “buildings” or “campuses.”
It is not one platform, nor one system.
Universities will be dismantled, professors will disappear, and students will disperse.
Education will no longer be something to be 'received', but rather a 'way of being' to become oneself.
This is a declaration.
It is a declaration that the age of knowledge is coming to an end and the age of existence has arrived.
A century ago, universities were the heart of human civilization.
It was a temple of intellect that sought truth, led society, and designed the future.
But AI has accelerated thinking, the metaverse has redefined space, and brain-computer interfaces have shattered the very meaning of learning.
As a result, universities are no longer places that are necessary for human beings.
But this is not the end.
Rather, the university's shell is peeled away, and human existence stands at the starting point where it must confront the original question, "What is a university?"
I no longer study for a diploma.
I construct my own existence within the network, and live in a world where learning is life itself.
And we, standing in the midst of that change, are now opening this book.
This book is a record of that turning point.
The world after college, people after professors, life after learning.
Now we are going to try to open that door together.
