Publisher's Review
Freedom and happiness, dreamed of by a robot with beautiful flaws!
A message of dreams and passion that lives and breathes in a breathtaking adventure!

Author Peter Brown imagined a future society where humans and robots coexist.
There is a special robot in the middle of it.
This is Rose, the wild robot! After being stranded on a wild island, Rose learned to be wild to survive. By observing animals, she even learned their language, allowing her to communicate with them.
Is that all?
Rose even has a goose son.
Robots are not supposed to feel emotions, but the robot mother and her goose son clearly share feelings that could be called love.
If you were to say that this robot has flaws, Rose would be a robot with truly beautiful flaws.

Rose has one dream.
Freedom! Rose wanted to be free.
I hoped to be able to live fully as myself and to be reunited with my only son.
After being forced to go to the city, Rose hides her wildness by pretending to be an ordinary robot.
But you can't live your entire life in hiding! The process of realizing you belong somewhere else and regaining your wildness to return home is beyond the simple word "moving."
The small dream of a robot who wants to live his own life, and his passion for that dream, makes me feel an indescribable overwhelming emotion.

The message this book conveys is surprisingly simple.
Before reading the book, you might have thought of robots as mere machines that are the property of humans and perform only the tasks they are programmed to do.
But our robot Rose exceeds expectations.
Learn and evolve by overcoming your own limitations.
They approach animals with a humble attitude, help each other out, and become friends. They also form a true family by taking good care of orphaned geese.
Moreover, the robot that left its hometown cannot overcome its longing for it and even attempts to escape.
This is something unimaginable for a robot.

Even robots, devoid of emotion, love, communicate, dream, and live their own lives, harboring passions. However, humans, capable of feeling a multitude of emotions, live their lives wrapped in selfishness, unable to look around, and refusing to communicate.
This story may be a criticism of modern people and modern society.
Through robot stories, we hope to help each other live with warmer hearts and awaken the power of deep love.

Wild Robot's life-threatening escape!
Thrilling adventure, heartwarming emotion, and a big resonance!

《Escape of the Wild Robot》 is the story of Rose's departure from the wild island.
What would happen if Rose were to escape the wild? How would she react to ordinary robots and humans? Could she adapt to civilized society? This book is a journey to find answers to these questions.

Rose, who left the wild island on an airship, arrives at a robot factory and undergoes various tests to be repaired.
Just as Rose disguised herself to survive in the wild, she also hides her true form to survive in the robot factory.
It behaved just like other robots so as not to be seen as a defective robot.
Rose, now completely healed, wakes up at Hilltop Farm.

Rose adapts well to farm life.
He faithfully follows the orders of his master, Mr. Sharif, his son, Jad, and his daughter, Jaya, and manages all kinds of farm machinery and takes care of the cattle.
But Rose, who still has all her memories, misses the time she was on the wild island.
The son he left behind on the island, and the animal friends he may never see again.
Rose, who felt she could not live her entire life trapped on the farm while hiding her true identity, eventually decided to escape the farm.
But Rose has a transmitter that tracks her location.
How will Rose escape the farm? Will she find freedom? What will be the fate of this unusual robot?

《The Escape of the Wild Robot》 surprises you with every turn of the page with its unpredictable plot.
The continued familial love between robots and geese, the friendship with animals, and the newly unfolding interactions with humans in Volume 2 give us much to think about.
And Peter Brown's unique illustrations provide readers with a wonderful imagination.
The picture, drawn in black and white with varying concentration, is simple yet detailed, making it more beautiful than any fancy illustration.
Combining schematic techniques and patterns, he creates stunning rural and urban landscapes, wild animals, and wild robots, disarming us and immersing us in fantastical robot stories.

· Author's Story

Where does a wild robot truly belong? Is it the island where it spent its first years? Or is it a civilized society where it works alongside other robots for humanity? I imagined Rose struggling between nature and civilization.
And if given a choice, I think Rose would choose to live on an island with wild animals.
But does Rose have a choice?

I sought to answer these questions as I wrote the sequel, which follows Rose's journey home.
The story had to have heart and soul, adventure and science, and even philosophy.
I had to create new characters and settings, and all of that had to play its part later.
It was complex, like a puzzle where every piece had to fit perfectly.

I read an article by an expert who predicts the future.
I studied robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence.
I imagined a future society where humans lived comfortably thanks to the tireless toil of robots.
In the middle of it all was Rose, who was trying to escape her new life and regain her wildness in order to return to her old life.
The puzzle pieces began to fall into place, and after years of research, thinking, writing, and drawing, I published my second novel, The Escape of the Wild Robots.
