Korean gold crown
Description
Book Introduction
The true story of our gold crowns, seen through the origins of gold crowns.
『Gold Crowns of Korea』 is the first academic book to reveal the symbolism, origin, manufacturing technique, and use of gold crowns through archaeological analysis of existing gold crowns from the Three Kingdoms period (1 from Goguryeo, 6 from Silla, and 2 from Gaya).
Goguryeo and Baekje used gold crowns symbolizing the eternal flame, while Silla and Gaya used gold crowns shaped like the horns of a dragon, the king of all things. This theory reveals the contradiction of the theory that the Silla gold crown originated from the Scythians in Central Asia, and asserts the theory that the gold crown originated in Korea itself.
