Korean Diaspora
Description
Book Introduction
Our ancestors and predecessors who had no choice but to leave their homeland during the late Joseon Dynasty, the Japanese colonial period, and the Korean War are now living scattered around the world.
The Korean diaspora includes Koreans in China, Koryo-saram in Central Asia in Russia, Koreans in Japan, Koreans in Hawaii, Koreans in Mexico and Cuba, Koreans in the South Sea Islands, German miners and nurses, and overseas Korean adoptees.
Most of the existing books on Korean immigration overseas deal with Korean immigration to a specific country.
Since the authors are mainly professional researchers, historians, and professors, it is true that as you read the content, technical terms and academic phrases often appear, making it a bit burdensome for general readers to read and digest.
In addition, since the volume of the book often exceeds that of a regular book, I believe that not only readability but also accessibility for readers is low.
Accordingly, the author has divided the book into eight sub-fields, from the Chinese Koreans mentioned above to overseas Korean adoptees, and designed this book to be easily accessible to not only adults but also teenagers, covering modern and contemporary history centered on our people.
