Into the book
Poet Baek Seok's Tongyeong, Gilsangsa Temple

I traveled all over Tongyeong with the mindset of someone who came here in search of love but was immediately rejected.

The same was true in Tongyeong, where Baekseok often visited to meet the woman he loved, 'Nan'.
That day was a day when you could see the sea that was bluer than the sky.
In front of the Chungnyeolsa Shrine, where they waited for 'Cheonhee' or 'Ran', it was winter, but yellow ginkgo leaves still embracing autumn were falling like raindrops.
I walked around Tongyeong wondering if Baekseok had really been sitting there or if Ran had really been to that well.
I traveled all over Tongyeong with the heart of someone who came here in search of love but was rejected outright.
That's the right person.
As Baek Seok put it, it couldn't have been anything other than 'rain that smells like seaweed'.

Could it be Natasha?

Poor me/ Because I love beautiful Natasha/ It's snowing heavily tonight// I love Natasha/ And the snow is falling heavily/ I sit alone and drink soju/ While drinking soju, I think/ Natasha and I/ On a snowy night, riding a white donkey/ Let's go to the mountain valley, to the deep mountain valley where the owl cries, Let's live in Magari (omitted) The snow is falling heavily/ Beautiful Natasha loves me/ And somewhere, the white donkey will cry because it likes tonight, Baek Seok's poem, "Natasha, Me, and the White Donkey"

[Interview]

Editor
: How did you come to visit literary museums and places that were once the homes of writers across the country?

Novelist Lee Eun-seon : I remember hosting a corner called the Literature Cafe Traveling Theater in 2014, when my first short story collection, "Balchika No. 9," was published, and performing literature concerts from Wonju to Jeju.
That's when I realized that there were many more places in each region that had meaningfully depicted the works of local literary museums and writers than I had previously known.
"Author" and "Work" as names representing regions and place names—what a fantastic naming sense! I simply followed these wonderful spots back to visit (and even received a serial offer from the Seoul Shinmun!). Rather than simply considering them as the author's old space, I wanted to approach them with the question of why they had to be "that place" in this day and age.
The power of masterpieces, classics, and masters transcends time and space! As expected, it was so.

Editor : Is there anything you'd like to say to our supporters?

Novelist Lee Eun-sun : No matter which page you open, you will discover the stories of writers who dedicated their lives to writing, living diligently, passionately, and wonderfully.
Why not plan a trip to glimpse their lives? Or simply wander through the author's land, flipping through the pages with a cup of coffee?
I dare say that this will be a more wonderful time than any other trip.
In an age where anyone can write at any time, a trip that glimpses into the lives of the writers who preceded us on this land is truly remarkable! The nearby restaurants are a bonus, and the stunning scenery is a must-see for any traveler! If we meet somewhere in between, I hope we can share a strong cup of coffee or beer.
It would also be fun to look at the map of national literature museums or the author's land spread out in the room.
