The most notable change in post-COVID travel has been 'safe travel.'
The shift from group travel to individual travel and from public transportation to rental cars is a global travel trend, but the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated this shift significantly.
The United States and Canada are countries where car gas is cheaper than public transportation.
In a country like this, it can be incredibly difficult and surprising for foreign travelers to travel around using public transportation.
However, if you follow the book with a couple of experts who have been traveling abroad by car in Europe, the US, and Canada for over 30 years, you will be able to tour the US and Canada safely and meaningfully.

1 Even if it's your first time driving in the US, if you know this, no problem!!
The United States and Canada have many traffic rules that are completely different from the driving habits of Koreans, and many people who donate huge fines to the United States because they don't know about them.
The traffic rule that Koreans have to be most careful about in the US and Canada is the 'stop sign'.
The stop sign is the most common sign you encounter while driving on American roads, and it is also the one you must most thoroughly obey.
Most signs in Korea contain "do" instructions, while most signs in the United States contain "prohibitions."
Everything that is not forbidden is free.
If you know in advance that the car that stopped first has priority at an intersection without a traffic light, that tailgating is prohibited, and that you know how to read traffic lights and regulatory signs, you will have no problem driving in the United States.

Having trouble planning a two-course meal? Here are 10 of the best recommended courses tailored to Koreans.
Here are 10 of the best recommended courses tailored to Koreans, including a one-week course of Los Angeles and Las Vegas, which are the most popular travel courses for Koreans, a course of Los Angeles and San Diego, a one-week family trip combining the romantic city of San Francisco with the magnificent nature of Yosemite National Park, a one-week course of San Francisco and Los Angeles, the two most famous cities in the western United States, a one-week course of Seattle/Vancouver and San Francisco or LA, and a one-week course that tours Toronto, Niagara Falls, and New York by purchasing round-trip flights to New York with a stopover in Toronto.
You can just follow along like this!

If you don't have much time, here are some must-see destinations in each city.
There are so many "world-class" things in the United States: the world's largest city, the world's largest theme park, the world's largest valley.
The United States has its own unique characteristics, and Canada has its own unique characteristics, and the East, West, South, and North each have their own unique characteristics, attracting the attention of travelers.
The land is vast and there are many places to visit, but this book has selected and introduced the must-see places first.
Among them, I chose and marked the places that I thought were “This is truly a world-class tourist destination, you must go here even if it means going all over the world!” with 3 stars (Top of the Rock, Times Square, Golden Gate Bridge, Sea World, theme parks (Disneyland/Universal Studios/Knott’s Berry Farm, Niagara Falls, Yellowstone National Park, etc.), the places that I thought were “If you only have one day, go here!” with 2 stars (Statue of Liberty, MoMA, Getty Center, San Diego Zoo, Monument Valley, etc.), and the places that I thought were “If you have more than two days, don’t miss this~” with 1 star (American Museum of Natural History, de Young Museum, Twin Peaks, Huntington, Tijuana, etc.).
You can't see everything in one trip, but the United States and Canada are attractive enough travel destinations that it's worth exploring little by little whenever you have the chance.

4. Difficulty in reserving a rental car - Choosing a car type, choosing a rental company, and tips for making a discount reservation
Preparing for a trip to the United States and Canada is, in some ways, quite simple.
Once you book your flight and rental car, you're basically ready to go.
You can complete payment for airline tickets with just a few clicks on Naver or other price comparison sites, and you can reserve and use the car rental model you want in almost any city in the United States and Canada.
Easy-to-access accommodations wherever you go, Korean markets and restaurants in every city, and a well-designed tourism system tailored to travelers make it possible to enjoy a trip to the United States and Canada without much preparation.
It is true that road trips in the United States and Canada are less stressful than those in Europe or other countries.

Pick-up/drop-off is available in any city within the US/Canada.
However, if you return the car across the state, you will have to pay a 'Drop Fee' to retrieve the car. The fee varies depending on the distance between the two cities, and can range from as little as $100 to as much as $750 for a cross-country trip.
However, there are cases where there is no one-way fee even if you return the car across the state. These conditions vary by rental company, so you should check when making a reservation (quote).
For Hertz rental cars, there is no one-way fee between California and Nevada (Las Vegas), and there is no one-way fee between airport locations in major eastern cities.

You can freely travel between the US and Canada in a rental car, but you cannot return the car one way to another country.
You cannot enter Mexico with a rental car from the US or Canada.
Once your flight schedule is confirmed, it's a good idea to book a rental car right away.
Basically, you can receive discounts such as 'overseas advance reservation discounts' if you make a reservation at least 24 hours before pickup, but if you make a reservation too close to the time, the car you want may not be available, so it is better to make a rental car reservation as early as possible.
If you go directly to the local sales office to request a car, the price can be up to 30% more expensive than if you reserve it in Korea, so you must reserve the car in Korea before departure.
There is basically no charge for a rental car reservation, and changes and cancellations are free after reservation, so there is no burden in making a reservation in advance.

5 Best Accommodations We Experience and Recommend
Hotel Betaiver in New York is a 1-2 minute walk from the subway, making it easy to get around downtown Manhattan. Each room has a small terrace, and some rooms have kitchen facilities, while others do not.
Grandview Hotel New York, located near Koreatown in Flushing, New York, has a 7.9 rating on Booking.com and has a large parking lot behind the building, so parking is free. LaGuardia Airport is a 5-6 minute drive away.
San Francisco is the city with the most expensive real estate and hotel prices in the United States, but if you go slightly outside of downtown San Francisco and toward the airport, you can find many cost-effective accommodations.
This is a very informative guide to 34 of the best value accommodations, recommended by those who have personally stayed there, including a 2-star hotel in LA that is as clean and nice as a 3-star hotel, a BnB in Seattle where you can experience a typical American home, and a mountain lodge-style accommodation in a national park.
