Gourmet Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey 2
Description
Book Introduction
We're back with more delicious rice and more informative information! The second story of a truly delicious restaurant chosen by a gourmet. Add a map of restaurants at a glance and your own restaurant notes! 『Gourmet Heo Young-man's Baekban Travels 2』, commemorating the 2nd anniversary of [Gourmet Heo Young-man's Baekban Travels], which first aired in May 2019, has been published by Guardian Publishing. This is the second installment of the food tour series following the previously published bestseller, 『Gourmet Heo Young-man's Baekban Travels』. The restaurant is introduced to approximately 200 restaurants, with the gourmet himself providing his own delicious critiques, carefully selecting the 'best of the best' dishes he has tasted while traveling around the country. This book, which gathers restaurants from six regions (Seoul, Incheon/Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Busan/Gyeongsang, and Jeolla), includes a map of local restaurants and my own notes. The map, which details the eight provinces of the country, displays the locations of restaurants by province, city, and county so that they can be seen at a glance. It also includes restaurant names and their signature menus so that domestic travelers can quickly find good restaurants just by looking at the map. In addition, at the bottom of each page where the restaurant is introduced, there is a space where you can write the date of your visit, your rating, and a review of your visit. By leaving brief notes on the book after visiting a restaurant, this book will become more than just a simple restaurant guide, but will become your own personal restaurant record filled with your memories, and its value will shine even brighter. |

Publisher's Review
Heo Young-man's richer drawings and cheerful comments,
Fun to read, fun to watch!
In particular, this book contains more food illustrations and comments drawn and written by the gourmet Heo Young-man himself.
The paintings, which fully embody Heo Yeong-man's unique personality, are affectionate and have vivid characteristics, making them fun to compare with actual photographs.
Moreover, the cheerful and sympathetic comments about each restaurant and its food make you feel as if you are reading Heo Young-man's notes.
The upgraded 『Sikgaek Heo Young-man's Baekban Travelogue 2』 will be the ultimate gourmet guidebook for all hidden gourmets seeking authentic Korean flavors.
Sikgaek Heo Young-man's absolute criteria for a good restaurant are "taste and low price."
Tasted and personally selected restaurants from all over the country!
Countless information about delicious restaurants floods into social media like blogs, YouTube, and Facebook every day.
It is not easy to choose a good restaurant among the various restaurant information that comes in like a wave, saying, "These days, this restaurant is delicious, or rather, that restaurant is even more delicious."
If you're going to eat a meal anyway, you want it to be delicious.
It's good alone, it's good with others.
Because the act of eating is a ‘hobby’ and a ‘small happiness.’
South Korea's top gourmet, Heo Young-man, has been compiling his own list of new restaurants over the past year.
I visited famous restaurants across the country by region and among them, I chose memorable dishes and dishes that I want to share with others and introduce them in 『Sikgaek Heo Young-man's Baekban Travelogue 2』.
His list of delicious restaurants is worth collecting.
The standard for a good restaurant for a gourmet is 'Baekban'.
As is commonly known, Baekban is a typical lunch menu for office workers.
It tastes like a comfortable and familiar home-cooked meal with rice, soup, and a few side dishes.
The sikgaek was looking for a simple table that tasted like his mother's cooking.
My mother prepared a delicious meal with just what she had.
The journey to find a table set like that is a journey to find the taste of mother's cooking.
What can compare to the sincerity of a mother, poured into a large bowl?
I feel happy when I see a table filled with seasonal ingredients in every home.
-From the prologue
We have considered various tastes and preferences, including a table prepared by culinary experts who have captivated the taste buds of customers for a long time, a table prepared with the utmost care using locally sourced seasonal ingredients, a table that stands out with its unique menu, and a table that goes well with a drink.
But the most important conditions are ‘taste’ and ‘low price’ (cost-effectiveness).
These two are the absolute standards of the restaurants that Gourmet Heo Young-man visited during his Baekban Travels.
With this one book, you can stop worrying about taste anywhere in the country!
If you can't go today, tomorrow; if you can't go tomorrow, the day after tomorrow.
A place I definitely want to visit someday
Food is what determines the mood of a meeting or a trip.
Food that embraces people's hearts like a warm word, exquisite dishes that make you nod in agreement, and prices that are hard to believe, make you want to come back again someday even after leaving the restaurant.
This is what the restaurants introduced by the sikgaek in this book have in common.
So, it would be good to go quickly, and even if it is not right away, it is definitely something to go to.
『Sikgaek Heo Young-man's Baekban Travelogue 2』 was created for readers who trust Sikgaek and will go out to find delicious restaurants.
With this one book, you won't have to worry about what to eat anywhere in the country.
The author recommends looking at the list of restaurants in the book, marking the places you want to visit, and then going there when you pass by.
After that, it would be better to use the notes section provided on each page to leave your own rating or organize your thoughts.
As you read the food drawings and delightful explanations of Sikgaek, Korea's best cartoonist and artist, you will find yourself transported to the restaurant.
This book will be the best guide for readers who want to travel domestically and those who are looking for delicious restaurants.
