Description
Book Introduction
A woman's mountaineering is not a conquest, but a joy.
The life of a woman in her thirties, covered in scars, turned into a mountain and embraced by the mountain!
City women in their 30s, worn out by corporate life, hurt by love, and keenly aware that reality is different from their dreams, pretend to be cool and cool, but how can they console their bitter and empty hearts?
A woman who thought it was her own problem, but was actually suffering from the typical depression and anxiety of a single woman in her 30s, meets San by chance.
A hike that didn't seem like a hike at all, started as a simple New Year's resolution in 2012 with the light heart of wanting to go on a diet for both body and mind.
I wake up slowly and take the subway to the nearby Seoul mountains. Among them, I choose the shortest ones and go there once or twice. In those mountains, I find the solace of a quiet life and a deep, unexaggerated rest.
She, who had been 'healing' without even realizing it, while drinking in the good energy of the mountains and forests and nurturing herself, only realized after climbing thirty mountains what a great 'gift' it was from nature and a painless piece of advice she had given herself.
The author, who felt that mountaineering was not simply a matter of going up and down, but rather a 'supplementary lesson in life', says that the supplementary lesson will continue indefinitely for the time being.
From January to July 2012, she walked mountain paths through winter, spring, and summer for seven months, enjoying the change of seasons in the forest. After climbing 30 mountains in and around Seoul, she wanted to share a simple weekend mountain trip that ended with a roll of kimbap and a transportation card, so she compiled her hiking journal and healing diary into a book.
The book not only provides basic information for mountaineering, such as transportation, hiking routes, maps, equipment, and walking methods, but also calmly depicts the mental illness that ordinary women in their 30s commonly experience and the healing process through the mountains.
For mountains with specially paved trails, the trail information was also carefully included.
It seems to cover everything a woman would want to know about hiking, from forest therapy and hiking diets to how to choose equipment and even how to pack a hiking lunch.
It is a refined guidebook that contains not only information but also a story, and an empathetic essay that captures reality.
A hiking book for delicate and sensitive women, shouldn't it be like this?
This is a refreshing and healing hiking trip that breaks down women's fears and stereotypes about hiking.

Into the book
Simhaksan is a mountain known only to those who know about it, but it is also a mountain that I want to introduce to those who don't know about it.
It is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Paju Book City, so anyone who visits the book city would have noticed it.
It is a course that kills two birds with one stone, where you can read a book while enjoying a cup of coffee and taking a walk in the forest in the book paradise that is the publishing complex.
There is also a large-scale outlet mall next door, so it is a great deal for women who love shopping.
A fulfilling schedule of playing in the forest in the morning, enjoying a cup of coffee at a book cafe in the afternoon, and enjoying shopping in the evening is all possible in one place, all without taking a single bus.

Come to think of it, there are more young men and women on Cheonggyesan Mountain than on other mountains.
Is it because Lee Hyo-ri and Jeon Ji-hyun were in the media for keeping their bodies in shape by climbing Cheonggyesan Mountain and Kim Je-dong was frequently mentioned for climbing it?
Young people in casual attire, free from their hiking gear, climb up and down Cheonggyesan Mountain, using it as a playground.
I don't know for sure, but I think it's the Seoul mountain that young people look for the most.
Perhaps the geographical location of the mountains on the outskirts of Gangnam also contributes to attracting young men and women who enjoy the nightlife of Gangnam Intersection.
--- p.121
As you pass Dongdaemun Fortress Park and climb along the fortress wall, you will come across a neighborhood that still retains its appearance from the 70s and 80s.
It's the same whether you start at Hyehwa Station and go through Ihwa-dong or get off at Hansung University Station and come towards Changsin-dong.
In the neighborhoods near Naksan, memories flow even in reality.
The sight of families hanging laundry on a clothesline, children playing and running around, and grandfathers with a bag of snacks and a bottle of soju on a makeshift table in a hole-in-the-wall store is both affectionate and nostalgic.
--- p.168
There is a coastal road in Horyonggok Mountain called ‘Fantasy Road’.
This path, which winds around the lower part of the mountain, is a small path surrounded by pine trees.
It is nice to take a leisurely walk while looking down at the West Sea, which changes its appearance every moment depending on the tide.
It is not the distant sea seen from the top.
The nearby sea shimmers before my eyes.
If you leave the hiking trail and take a side road, you may come across a tidal flat.
--- p.204
Even when viewed from afar, Bukhansan Mountain does not hide its appearance at all.
He exposes his entire body without hesitation, as if he has nothing to be afraid of.
When you look at Bukhansan after a heavy snowfall, its grandeur and grandeur are comparable to those of the Himalayas.
As even Captain Um Hong-gil, a Himalayan man, admitted, a senior who had climbed the Himalayas several times also exclaimed that after a heavy snowfall, Mt. Bukhan looked just like Kanchenjunga.
It is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Paju Book City, so anyone who visits the book city would have noticed it.

Publisher's Review
To the 'women in their thirties' who need the mountains
A trip to the Seoul mountains that are easily accessible
Gold Miss, Dried Fish Girl, these are words that are often heard on the news to refer to single women in their 30s.
Single, unmarried women now constitute a distinct segment of the population.
Single women in their 30s have become a culture that exerts influence not only on the residential environment of single-person apartments, but also on the overall social trends, including single-person appliances, furniture, daily necessities, and even food culture.
So what are they most interested in? Even if it's not necessarily marriage, it's hobbies that allow them to enjoy the present, health, financial planning, and retirement planning.
In particular, mountain climbing is the best activity for women in their 30s, as it allows them to escape from their daily work and stressful lives while also providing exercise, travel, therapy, and even dieting.
Recently, celebrities like Lee Hyo-ri and Jun Ji-hyun have become more into mountaineering, and many women in their 30s have thought at least once, "Should I go hiking too?"
But for single women in their 30s, hiking is scary.
Just thinking about the early wake-up on a golden weekend, finding a friend to go with, the long transportation to the mountain, the high summit, and the difficulty of the climb - all these things make me anxious.
So, what if you could wake up late on the weekend and reach the mountain without a hassle by subway? What if it's a low mountain you can reach in under two hours, even if you take a leisurely hike? What if you can enjoy the forest and valleys without having to reach the summit, and de-stress? What if you could enjoy the satisfaction of having a meaningful weekend while also taking care of your health? It's killing two birds with one stone, no, three or four birds with one stone.
The author, a single woman in her 30s, also spent the entire weekend watching TV and watching her laptop, leaving her phone behind and not ringing.
As I turned 30, the friends I used to spend weekends with started to disappear one by one, and weekend meetings often became a nuisance to my married friends.
Then, all of a sudden, I made a New Year's plan for 2012.
One of the things I've decided to do this year is go hiking.
The hike began as a kind of pledge to change myself, both physically and mentally.
I decided to go hiking and looked around the mountains in and around Seoul. I found that there were more mountains than I had expected in the huge city of Seoul.
There were familiar names that come to mind when thinking of mountain climbing, such as Bukhansan, Dobongsan, Cheonggyesan, and Gwanaksan, as well as small mountains that only local residents would know, such as Ansan, Baekryeonsan, Daemosan, Guryongsan, and Gaehwasan.
I was also surprised to learn that there are over thirty mountains, large and small, in Seoul alone, including mountains like Namsan, Naksan, Inwangsan, and Bukaksan that formed the old Hanyang fortress walls, as well as Sapaesan and Samseongsan, whose names are even unfamiliar.
It's been 7 months since I started hiking every weekend.
The number of mountains I have climbed has now reached 30.
I rode the subway without any burden every weekend, every holiday, and sometimes even on weekdays when I had time.
Sometimes it wasn't hard, sometimes it was hard, but my heart felt 100 times warmer than before.
The author, who climbed the mountain himself, took photos, and wrote down his memories and compiled them into a book, has now become a true weekend hiking enthusiast.
“Come to think of it, no matter what neighborhood we lived in, there was always an unknown mountain behind us, in front of us, or next to us.
Even if it's a small mountain like a hill in the neighborhood, a mountain is still a mountain.
It is a mountain because you have to climb it, and it is a mountain because the forest is thick, and the view below your feet is good, so it is a mountain.
If there is something that a mountain should have, it is all there, even on the small hill behind the village.
The low mountains that stretch out across our country are as friendly as a local hole-in-the-wall shop.
It's great to explore the alleyways of Seoul and explore delicious restaurants, but you can't say you've enjoyed Seoul without visiting Seoul Mountain.
For the time being, Jjapaghetti on Sundays~ Instead, Mountain on Sundays.”
A travel destination where you can more easily heal your body and mind,
The jewel-like mountains scattered throughout Seoul
Women in their thirties should boldly invest their weekends.
This book groups mountains in Seoul and nearby Gyeonggi Province by topic.
Of course, these are mountains that can be visited in half a day or a whole day by public transportation such as subway or bus.
Mountains with hiking trails that are better than the surrounding paths, such as Ansan, Baekryeonsan, and Umyeonsan; mountains that can be easily climbed for relaxation, such as Daemosan, Cheonggyesan, and Achasan; mountains that can be climbed along the fortress walls, such as Bukaksan, Inwangsan, and Namsan; mountains with valleys for water play, such as Yumyeongsan and Gwanaksan; mountains that can be reached by taking the Gyeongchun Line, including those in the Gyeonggi area, such as Homyeongsan, Samaksan, and Surisan; and majestic and high mountains, such as Bulamsan, Suraksan, and Bukhansan. A total of 6 chapters, each with its own theme, are useful and fun to suit each person's taste.
In addition to the author's impressions while climbing the mountain, the map shows the route he personally took, directions, required time, connected hikes, and other routes in detail.
