Book Introduction
『The duck only looks at books』
Meet it in a small and cute board book!
So that babies can also fully enjoy the pleasure of immersion
It's been newly decorated.

Have you ever been passionate about something?
It's a perfect day for reading a book.
We invite you to a day in the life of a duck who only reads books.
A lovely story about a duck obsessed with books and a crocodile that is after him.

It's a perfect day for reading a book.
The duck only reads books.
It's so much fun that the duck just reads the book and reads the book again.
Even when a crocodile comes close to eat the duck, and the crocodile moves around to try to get the crocodile off its back, the duck just reads the book.
I just lay down on the crocodile's back and read a book, as if it were a comfortable bed.
Other crocodiles also appeared, targeting the duck for lunch.
While the first alligator to steam the duck was fighting off the new alligators, did the duck escape? No.
I'm still just reading books.
The crocodile is now more curious about the book the duck is reading than the duck itself.
"What's so funny? Let me see!" Can a crocodile really eat duck for lunch? I invite everyone who's ever been engrossed in something to join me in this story.

Publisher's Review
Watch the adorable transformation of the concentrating duck!

It's so lovely to see someone so passionate about something.
Think about the first time your baby sees a mobile or discovers his or her own fist and stares at it intently.
I wonder where they are looking and what they find so interesting.
Those sparkling eyes and focused lips are really lovely.
The duck in the book is like that too.
He reads books with a smiling expression, a serious expression, sitting, lying down, or lying down.
And I move my feet excitedly.
Although the expressions and postures may change, the fact that the duck is completely absorbed in the book remains the same in all scenes.
If we read this book while paying attention to that change, we too will surely fall in love with the loveliness of an immersive being.

Board book for young readers: "The Duck Only Sees Books"

The previous work, “Picture Book of Questions,” stood out for its realistic quality with its delicate details, while “Cabbage Wraps” was painted with transparent watercolors over light pen drawings to freely express the cabbage and the animals that appear.
In "The Duck Only Reads Books," the drawing pen was changed from a cabbage wrap to a brush pen.
The movement of the crocodile and the depiction of water were perfectly expressed with a brush pen that can be drawn thinly or very thickly.
The newly redesigned board book, "The Duck Only Sees Books," has been designed with young readers in mind, with significantly adjusted illustrations, especially the characters, and has been enhanced with more friendly text to enhance its communication.
Just as the duck is absorbed in the book, young readers will also be absorbed in "Duck Only Reads Books."

The story "The Duck Only Reads Books" by Eun-kyung Lee

It was when I was going through a slump while working on my previous picture book.
I didn't leave my desk, but since the drawing wasn't going well, I drew other things I wanted to draw.
Among them, I happened to draw a picture of a duck leisurely reading a book on the water, and I thought that this duck would only read books no matter what.
I thought, 'I need to work as hard as you do...' and that's when Ori told me his story.

I was almost awake while following the duck's path and drawing the duck story.
After completing the thumbnail in such a short time, I thought that this story could be made into a picture book.
Looking back, I was completely immersed when I was creating the thumbnail for "Ducks Only Look at Books."
It was an exhilarating experience.
It was also amazing.
This picture book is also a story about ‘immersion.’

Since becoming a writer, I've always been on the lookout for stories.
Then, sometimes inspiration comes from even the smallest things.
The story is also quite accurate.
Now, I'm creating a story by weaving together pieces one by one like a patchwork quilt.
If you don't give up, you will eventually be able to fill in the empty patchwork.

I hope that your small but sparkling moments of immersion will be as delightful as the crocodile's delightful absorption in the book-reading duck.
