Publisher's Review
Open Korean is a free Korean language education program for foreigners residing in Korea that has been run since 2005 by volunteers who are Korean language education experts at the Korea Foundation Cultural Center and sponsored by the Korea Foundation.
(The number of cumulative students per year is about 2,000, and foreigners from about 80 countries are attending, and currently, about 250 foreigners are taking classes once a week for 2 hours from Korean language class to advanced class.) This is a textbook that has been used directly for the past 7 years, and it has been revised and edited by carefully selecting high-frequency grammar for beginner and intermediate levels and reinforcing language functions by area according to the level of Korean language education.
The course is structured to naturally connect the language areas of speaking, writing, listening, and reading, and to foster deeper language skills and fluency through broadening expressions and winging.
By publishing a teacher's guide to help teachers use the book more effectively, we have expanded the scope of the teacher's resource collection, which was previously limited to partial publication, to include beginner and intermediate levels.
We also strived to perfect the Korean language textbook to satisfy both students and teachers by including friendly lesson plans, detailed class progress methods, practical field experiences, and a variety of classroom activities and worksheets.
We also put a lot of effort into making it more approachable for students by providing a wealth of beautiful illustrations to clearly differentiate it from existing textbooks.
