Introduction to Korean Language for International Students
Description
Book Introduction
This book was written to help international students majoring in Korean language and literature and Korean language education learn the introductory content of Korean language more easily.
Even for foreigners who speak Korean at a very high level, it is very difficult to theoretically learn the phonology, morphology, syntax, pragmatics, and historical aspects of Korean.
This book was prepared to help international students who will need to study Korean in depth as a major in the future use it as a stepping stone to more easily enter the field of Korean language.
This book can be useful not only to international students studying in Korea, but also to students majoring in Korean studies abroad.
It can also be helpful to foreign students majoring in Korean language or Korean language education who feel the need to study the basics of Korean language.
Typically, universities teach Korean language based on the knowledge of school grammar that students learned in elementary, middle, and high school.
Foreign students who have not received Korean school education are very likely to lack knowledge of this school grammar.
Therefore, this book mainly uses the grammar system and terminology adopted from school grammar to enable foreign students to acquire basic knowledge.
This book provides various devices to help students approach the introduction to Korean language more easily.
To help students understand the content more easily, this book provides a variety of easy-to-understand examples, and to allow them to delve deeper into the content, supplementary explanations are provided through sections such as 'Pause Here,' 'Look Back,' 'Magnifying Glass,' and 'Learn More.'
