Writing in Korean using reading text
Description
Book Introduction
This book is divided into three parts, and in Part 1, you can learn the basics of writing, which is how to explain things in writing.
First, we organized the book so that you can learn various methods of explanation through reading materials and then write explanatory essays based on the background knowledge you have acquired.
Part 2 is argumentative writing, and it slowly familiarizes students with the basics of argumentation, from presenting causes and evidence, solving problems, and criticizing and arguing, to more advanced writing.
Criticism and Argument was designed to provide students with the opportunity to practice criticism and counter-arguments through discussion before writing.
Part 3 is writing a report for academic purposes.
For foreigners entering the highest level of language training or university, this guide presents the basics of report writing, from questionnaires and data research to format and structure, step by step.
The ultimate goal of this book is to enable you to naturally connect the writing skills you learned in Parts 1 and 2 to writing reports.
In this revised edition, we have added several features to make it a more learner-centered book.
First, we asked students to write the essays presented in each subject and then evaluate the main content and expressions through ‘Check’.
Additionally, we've organized the key expressions in the first chapter so that you can learn them before writing by genre.
Finally, we provide a final assignment and model answer key at the end of each chapter to help students review the material on their own.

Publisher's Review
Expressing thoughts in writing is not easy.
I worry about what and how to write, but the burden of writing itself is great.
Foreigners, in particular, face the double whammy of not only a lack of writing skills but also a lack of Korean language proficiency and background knowledge. For this reason, some students give up writing altogether or resort to memorization and improvisation.
This book's defining characteristic is that it teaches readers a variety of writing styles through reading materials and builds sufficient background knowledge before beginning writing. The writing process involves expressing background knowledge through appropriate expression and structure, so lack of background knowledge or a lack of understanding of how to express oneself effectively prevents good writing.
Therefore, reading strategically structured texts to become familiar with the format of the text and obtain good information can be seen as the process of planting the seeds for writing.
Foreign learners will be able to naturally complete a piece of writing by following the step-by-step process, from expanding their thinking to sentences, paragraphs, and writing, based on that seed.
To make this process possible, sentence patterns and discourse markers are provided at each writing stage to minimize the burden on students.
It is also characterized by the exclusion of explanations or terms that may cause a burden on writing.
It is structured so that expressions or discourse markers can be learned and acquired through repetition during the reading and writing process without separate explanation.
And, we reduced reading time by presenting target vocabulary in English, Chinese, and Vietnamese at the end of each lesson.
