Publisher's Review
This textbook is a Korean language textbook that was created to allow foreigners to experience the Korean university course in advance, following the work of “Sogang Korean Academic Purpose Course Writing 3.”
To this end, the units were structured around topics related to major subjects such as media, ethics, management, and biotechnology, including 'learning vocabulary (through reading), taking notes (while listening to lectures), writing reports, and writing exam answers', so that students could acquire the knowledge and learning skills necessary for university courses.
In particular, it can be said to be a must-read for academic learners who wish to experience the on-site atmosphere of Korean universities in advance, as it reproduces the university course curriculum in a modified and reduced form to suit the level of foreign learners.
This textbook is intended for students who have completed Level 5 of the Korean Intensive Course or have completed approximately 1,000 hours of Korean language classes, and are aiming to advance to Korean universities or graduate schools, as well as undergraduate students in the beginning stages of their major. The content is organized into four chapters centered on general academic topics, and each chapter is reconstructed around writing activities that students actually take in college.
To assist teachers and learners using this textbook, lecture scripts, answers, and example texts are provided as appendices at the back of the book. In addition, video lectures for “Listening to Lectures and Taking Notes” and short audio lectures for practicing “Note-taking Strategies” for each chapter are included, which are expected to be of great help to learners.
