Publisher's Review
In an era of 900,000 immigrants, we need proper Korean language textbooks!

According to data released by Statistics Korea in December 2008, the number of foreign residents in Korea was 891,341, accounting for 1.8 percent of the population.
This figure, including those who have acquired citizenship and those who are illegal residents, represents a 23.3 percent increase compared to 2007.
Foreign workers, marriage immigrants, and their children account for 71.8 percent of all foreign residents.
According to the 'Survey on the Status of Cultural Enjoyment by Immigrants' conducted by the Culture and Tourism Research Institute in the same year, the biggest cultural difficulty faced by immigrants was 'not being familiar with the Korean language', which was the highest at 43.2%.
When asked about the cultural program that the government should prioritize the most, Korean language education received the highest response rate at 46.9 percent.

What are the current availability of textbooks for immigrants to learn Korean, a pressing and urgent matter? According to the related paper, "The Current State of Multicultural Families and Support Measures for Korean Language Education" (Ewha Womans University, Seo Hyuk), the only official Korean language textbook for multicultural families is the "Korean Language Textbook for Female Marriage Immigrants," published by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in late 2005.
Here's a quote from a bookstore official: "Even if you go to a large bookstore like Kyobo Bookstore or Youngpoong Bookstore, they only have a few popular books in one corner.
Additionally, most university textbooks are centered around international students.
It's written language, not everyday conversational language, so it doesn't really suit most immigrants.
There is no suitable textbook.
It is difficult to purchase even in large bookstores, and it is difficult for publishers to form a market.
“Demand is determined, but there are many immigrants who cannot afford to buy books.”

In response to the urgent need for inexpensive "everyday conversation" textbooks for immigrants, the Korean language guide for marriage immigrants from multicultural families, "First Steps in Korean for Chinese," has been published.
We focused on minimizing the problems of existing books, and designed it so that beginners can learn basic Korean sentence structures and vocabulary and use them to have simple conversations in daily life.
The topics covered in this textbook are applicable to real life, and the book is easy to carry, so you can always carry it with you and use it as needed. This is another advantage of this book.

In the 90th century, the people of the 1990s were united, and the Korean language was taught in a unified way!
