Unlike learners in Chinese character-speaking countries, English-speaking and non-Chinese character-speaking countries have difficulty learning Chinese characters due to a lack of basic knowledge or understanding of Chinese characters.
This book was created to help non-Chinese character learners quickly and efficiently increase their vocabulary by mastering approximately 2,000 Chinese characters, focusing on 50 highly volatile characters. This book presents the meanings and illustrations of Chinese characters to facilitate a basic understanding of the characters, and encourages writing practice according to stroke order.
Additionally, a table of Chinese characters is provided so that you can see Chinese characters at a glance, focusing on high-frequency Chinese characters.

For each Chinese character word, examples and translations are included along with synonyms and antonyms. The example sentences use vocabulary and grammar appropriate for the level of intermediate learners, and the importance and topic levels from the National Institute of the Korean Language's Basic Korean Dictionary are provided to assist in teaching and learning. The practice problems in the Review Quiz allow students to check their learning content, and an additional vocabulary list is provided to help students expand their Chinese character vocabulary.
Additionally, the appendix includes a list of high-frequency similar-meaning affixes and major homonyms.
