The number of overseas Koreans worldwide has steadily increased, currently exceeding 7.4 million.
In order for overseas Koreans around the world to live with a healthy identity and pride, Korean language education tailored to their specific needs is necessary.
In particular, since the pattern of language development varies depending on age, it is necessary to provide Korean language education appropriate to the age.

Based on the results of its previous customized textbook development, the National Institute of the Korean Language has been developing Korean language education materials for overseas Korean preschool children (ages 3-6).
In 2017, we conducted basic research and a needs survey, and in 2018, we conducted field applications and opinion gathering.
The educational materials development team includes experts in Korean language education, early childhood education, and overseas Korean education.
As a result, we published six activity books for children, two teacher's guides, one Korean language activity book, and one large picture book under the title "Exciting Korean for Children Around the World."

This educational material will be easy and convenient for overseas Korean children, teachers, and parents to use.
Children can learn Korean in a fun way through a wide range of learning content, teachers can flexibly utilize various activity sheets according to educational purposes, and parents can naturally use the Korean language they learn at school at home through home-linked activities.
In particular, these educational materials were developed to promote young children's bilingual abilities and foster a proper linguistic and cultural identity.
So, we tried to enrich the content about Korean language and culture and show the diverse aspects of language and culture.

We hope that many overseas Korean children will have fun learning Korean through ‘Exciting Korean for Children Around the World.’
