Nuance Korean NUANCE KOREAN
Nuance Korean NUANCE KOREAN
Description
Book Introduction
As Korean language learners reach a certain level of proficiency, they begin to experience difficulty distinguishing the subtle differences, or "nuances," between words with similar meanings.
This is because even though we learned that the dictionary meanings are the same, we often get criticism that our sentences are awkward when we write or speak them.
For example, both 'full' and 'full' mean 'a lot', but just as it would be awkward to write 'I filled the water bottle with water' as 'I put a lot of water in the water bottle', the words that can be used naturally vary depending on the situation and context.

Dictionaries and most general vocabulary books only explain the meanings and usage of words, but often do not go into detail about the nuance differences between 'a' and 'eo' words.
This book started from these concerns.

This book is for foreign learners with intermediate or higher Korean language skills and their teachers.
We paired up words with similar meanings that students frequently ask about in actual classrooms, and explained in easy Korean the similarities and differences between the two words, the differences in nuance, and the situations and conditions under which they can be used.
We've also included practical examples of situations where you can use the two words to help you understand, as well as practice questions to help you check your understanding.
