Korean for Monks
Korean for Monks
Description
Book Introduction
This book is a Korean language textbook for self-study consisting of a total of 26 units.
Although this book is intended for Catholic monks, anyone who wants to study Korean independently of their faith can use it.
The entire unit of 『Korean for Monks』 is structured as 'text-translation-vocabulary-expression-grammar-practice-topic cards.'

The 'body text' consists of 5 to 8 sentences in dialogue or monologue form, centered around the topic of each unit.
When you begin studying, I recommend reading the entire sentence out loud while trying to get a general idea of its meaning.
If you come across a word you don't know, it's better to read it several times rather than looking it up in a dictionary.
The best way to keep the book interesting and to finish it is to look at the interpretation of the text.
'Words' are grouped into 3-4 items by topic and presented in an easy-to-remember manner.
I recommend that you memorize the words presented as a vocabulary net while looking at their meanings.

'Expressions' is designed to help you speak fluently by providing examples of idioms and expressions frequently used by Koreans among the sentences in the text.
It would be a good idea to study carefully by looking at examples to see when and how to use this expression.
'Grammar' presents 2 to 4 target grammar points per unit that students should study and remember in the text.
I tried to make studying Korean as fun as possible by presenting the grammar to a minimum and explaining it without using stiff grammar terms.
It would be good to study this grammar with examples of when and how to use it.

‘Practice’ was presented in two ways.
The first exercise was done by looking at a translation in English or Spanish and translating it into Korean and speaking and writing it.
The second is designed to fill in the blanks in applied sentences so that the target grammar can be used well.
When studying practice problems, it is recommended that you first say the answer out loud and then write it down.
'Topic Cards' are for applying the topics or communication skills covered in each unit to actual speaking or writing.
I hope you have the opportunity to express your thoughts by imagining that you have a Korean teacher or friend in front of you.
If you study like this, your ability to express yourself in Korean will undoubtedly improve quickly.
