Description
Book Introduction
≪The Nine Clouds≫ is a classic novel written during the Joseon Dynasty that contains the story of a young monk named Seongjin's dream.
So, most of the novel is occupied by things that happen in dreams.
However, the author considers it more important to gain enlightenment about reality through dreams than to do so.
The protagonist, Seongjin, forgets that he is a monk and meets eight fairies and exchanges jokes with them.
And instead of following the teachings of Buddhism, he wants to live a life of love and success with women.
Seongjin's teacher, Master Yukwan, punishes Seongjin by making him reborn as Yang Soyu.
During his life, Yang So-yu meets and falls in love with eight fairies who are reincarnated as eight women.
And Seongjin gets to live the successful life he wanted.
But as Yang So-yu grows older, he realizes that his happiness cannot last forever.
You realize that everything you've achieved is useless and will disappear with time.
So, Yang So-yu decides to give up everything and go to learn Buddhist teachings.
At that time, the Great Master Yukwan appears in front of Yang So-yu, and Seong-jin, who was Yang So-yu, wakes up from his dream.
And as he thinks about what he experienced in his dream, he gains great enlightenment and becomes a great monk.
≪The Nine Clouds≫ is a very long novel.
So it was originally divided into two books.
This book contains the first volume.
The content is up to the part where Yang So-yu meets the seventh of the eight fairies who were reincarnated as women.
