Publisher's Review
This book is a planned series produced by the Ewha Womans University Multicultural Research Institute to recognize the mutual equality of cultural rights beyond assimilationism and to establish a cyclical model of research, education, and policy that connects academic research and field practice.

The “Ewha Multicultural Series” is published firstly in four sections: language, society, medicine, and education. The “Language” section deals with the correlation between language and culture, the relationship between universality and individuality of language, and the problem of comparison and contrast between languages.
In 'Society', we study ways to build social capacity to diagnose multicultural societies and establish social integration programs, and ways to institutionalize them. In 'Medicine', we deal with issues related to the health of immigrants, such as the immune systems of immigrants and natives, the immune systems of children from multicultural families and Koreans, pregnancy and childbirth for multicultural families, and multicultural families and medical health.
In 'Education', the main topics are language education in a bilingual society, especially Korean language education for multicultural families and their children in Korea, Korean language education for children of compatriots abroad, and Korean language education for foreigners.
