We hope that learners will find learning Korean easier and more enjoyable through "Learn Korean Quickly," written by Korea's top Korean language education experts.
Furthermore, I hope that this textbook will serve as a small stepping stone for a deeper understanding of Korean culture.

(Revised Edition) “Learn Korean Quickly 2” is a short-term integrated textbook for foreigners and overseas Koreans who want to learn Korean easily and enjoyably in a short period of time.
This book aims to help learners who have learned the Korean alphabet and developed basic communication skills in the beginner level textbook, “Learn Korean Quickly 1,” learn a variety of functions on topics such as greetings, weekend activities, dates, daily routines, famous places, food, transportation, and shopping, and develop the communication skills necessary for life in Korea.

(Revised Edition) 〈Learn Korean Quickly 2〉 is comprised of 10 units, each unit lasting 4 hours, so it takes a total of 40 hours to complete this textbook.


This textbook sets out essential topics that beginner learners must master, and teaches them how to introduce, explain, order, use transportation, and shop based on those topics.


ㆍIn the introduction, photos that match the topic of each unit are presented to help with learning, questions related to the topic are asked to stimulate interest, and learning objectives are briefly presented in a table.
ㆍVocabulary presents key vocabulary related to the topic, but uses pictures and illustrations to help beginners learn easily.
Additionally, after learning vocabulary, meaningful speaking practice was conducted using the learned vocabulary.


ㆍIn grammar , two grammar rules are taught in each unit.
We show how the target grammar is used through examples, and help students learn grammar within discourse through conversations.
For learners who need more detailed grammar explanations, English, Chinese, and Japanese grammar explanations are included in the appendix, and page numbers are provided for easy reference.


ㆍIn conversation , students learn practical discourse through basic conversations that fit the topic and function, and practice speaking that can be used in real life by creating conversations by applying basic conversations.


ㆍIn speaking, tasks related to topics and functions are presented to help develop basic communication skills, and accuracy and fluency are developed by utilizing previously learned vocabulary and grammar.


ㆍIn the advanced learning-listening section , students listen to various types of listening discourse to develop not only the ability to understand spoken language but also the ability to use spoken language.

ㆍIn the advanced learning-reading and writing section, prose that includes the topic and function of each unit is presented to develop written language comprehension and writing skills.
Reading was composed of pre-stage, main stage, and post-stage activities, and in the post-reading stage, controlled writing using the read text was induced to ensure an integrated activity of reading and writing.

ㆍIn the Culture Tasting section , we provide a taste of Korean culture by introducing Korean leisure activities, travel destinations and food information, as well as Korean transportation and travel information.

ㆍThe appendix includes ‘listening passages’, ‘listening and reading answers’, ‘dialogue translations’, ‘grammar explanations’, ‘vocabulary list’, and ‘vocabulary index’ to help teachers and learners.


This book aims to develop basic communication skills for beginner Korean language learners, and not only allows them to learn Korean quickly in a short period of time, but also organizes the content so that they can learn about Korean popular culture.
I sincerely hope that this book will be widely used by many people, both domestically and internationally, who wish to learn Korean language and culture.
