Basics of Korean Language and Culture
Description
Book Introduction
I am truly pleased that Sejong University has published “Basics of Korean Language and Culture,” a liberal arts Korean textbook for teaching Korean to international students.
Sejong University, which inherits the spirit of King Sejong, who created Hangeul based on creative and scientific principles along with a love for the people, has grown into a research-oriented global university, educating many international students. I believe the publication of “Basics of Korean Language and Culture” is very meaningful and timely.
In the difficult past, we studied abroad in many advanced countries and envied their language and culture. Now, Korean culture has become an object of envy, and it is easy to find foreigners both at home and abroad who make great efforts to speak and write Korean fluently.
〈Basics of Korean Language and Culture〉 is the result of the meticulous writing of six instructors, including Professor Jang Hyeon-muk.
Since the first liberal arts Korean language course was introduced in the first semester of 2014, we have put a lot of thought and effort into developing it based on educational materials produced during the Korean language education course and our passionate teaching experience.
Although it covers beginner-level Korean, we carefully selected the topics and structured it around grammar and activities to provide practical help to international students continuing their studies at university.
We provide ample, appropriate practice, including explanations of Korean culture, to help international students easily understand the Korean language.
