Book Introduction
This book was designed to address the two most pressing concerns of students preparing for the intermediate and advanced levels of the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK): "Where and how much vocabulary should I study?" and "How can I avoid forgetting it and use it appropriately in different situations?"
To help you study effectively in a short period of time, we have selected and included approximately 1,400 essential vocabulary words for intermediate and advanced levels based on frequency and importance.
After analyzing all the previously released questions since the TOPIK test was revised in 2014, we compiled the vocabulary from the 'TOPIK Vocabulary Disclosure List' provided by the National Institute for International Education and textbooks from major domestic universities and institutions to ensure that learners learn approximately 30 vocabulary words per topic every day.
Additionally, before learning the full meaning, learners were made to go through a 'preparatory stage' where they looked at sentences containing vocabulary and inferred the meaning of the vocabulary.
In the full-fledged 'learning stage', you can check your understanding of the vocabulary once again through various example sentences presented with the title, and 'Test Tips' and 'Background Knowledge to Get a Perfect Score' are included under the title to help you memorize it more deeply and solidly.
The 'Confirmation Stage' consists of 'Let's Check' after each day's study, review every ten days or so, and two mini mock exams at the end of the book to periodically check what you have learned.
Furthermore, we provide not only audio of vocabulary and examples read by professional voice actors, but also PDFs of English translations via QR codes, allowing for easier and more multifaceted learning.
