A new book after 5 years since the national baby food book, ‘Tuni Baby Food’!
Following the first one, the second one was also raised healthily.
Introducing 『Just Topping Baby Food』!

Five years have passed since the publication of 『Tuni Baby Food』, which helped Tuni grow up healthy.
Meanwhile, 『Tuni Baby Food』 has become a guide to baby food for new parents and a national baby food book.
Author Heeya tried very hard to have a younger sibling, but it wasn't easy.
After a long wait and effort (7th test tube pregnancy), the second child, only one, was born prematurely, weighing 2.32 kg, at 35 weeks and 1 day.
Because he had difficulty breathing on his own, he was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit at a university hospital immediately after birth.
In addition, my mom and dad were heartbroken when I was diagnosed with an atrial septal defect (a hole in the heart).
Fortunately, he grew up healthy by eating his mother's baby food and was diagnosed with a complete recovery from atrial septal defect without surgery.

Writer Hee-ya has made everything from rice cooker baby food for her firstborn, Ttungi, to topping baby food and even self-directed baby food for her premature baby, Puni.
I also diligently researched and studied the revised weaning guidelines by looking through the American Academy of Pediatrics, WHO data, and overseas papers.
All that experience, knowledge, and know-how is put into this book.
I hope this helps those of you who are new to solid food.

Topping baby food, porridge baby food (rice cooker baby food), self-directed baby food - they all have slightly different forms, but they are all the same baby food. As long as your baby eats well, any method is fine.
The premature baby, who weighed 2.32 kg and looked like he would break if touched, grew up healthy enough to weigh over 10 kg after eating baby food.

The goal of weaning is for the family to be able to enjoy three enjoyable meals together when the baby turns one.
Even if it progresses a little slowly, please trust your baby and wait.
Your lovely babies will eat well and grow up healthy just like you.

Into the book
The purpose of complementary foods is to meet nutritional needs, provide a variety of tastes and textures, and develop healthy eating habits.
It is also natural to reject new foods as you introduce solid foods, and you should try them at least 8 to 10 times in various ways, such as combining them with other foods or changing the taste and texture.
--- p.14

As of 2021, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Institutes of Health, and the World Health Organization (WHO) all recommend that babies begin introducing solid foods at 6 months of age.
The reason why 6 months is recommended in the United States is because if you start too early, before 4 months, it will be difficult to start weaning at all because the baby will not be able to hold up his or her head properly or sit up.
According to one study, starting solid foods too early (before 4 months of age) may lead to excessive weight gain in infancy or adolescence.

--- p.16

In the early stages of weaning, I gave him 40g of rice oatmeal-based porridge, 10g of beef, and 6g of egg yolk.
I started with two types of vegetables, 10g each, and gradually increased the amount to three types.
By feeding it this way, the baby who used to eat 30g of rice porridge in the beginning of the first weaning period was now eating 80g per meal by the end of the first period.
You can adjust the total amount by increasing the amount of base porridge or adding one more vegetable topping to match the amount your baby eats.
--- p.48

When can I start giving my baby water? At 3-4 months of age, breast milk (or formula) alone is sufficient for sufficient hydration.
If you give water at this time, it may interfere with the nutrient intake of breast milk or formula.
Be careful not to drink water too early as this can lead to electrolyte imbalance.
So when can I start giving water?
The revised Weaning Guidelines recommend starting solid foods at 6 months of age.
You can start giving water to your baby around 6 months of age.
It doesn't matter if it's a few days earlier or later.

--- p.53

Would anyone buy something just because it says "organic" at the supermarket? Most organic tofu, it turns out, is made from Chinese or foreign soybeans.
No matter how organic it is, it is a bit uneasy because it cannot be overlooked that it has been treated with chemicals when imported from overseas over a long distance and for a long time.
Since the issue of GMO genetic modification in imported soybeans is something that cannot be ignored, I recommend tofu made from domestic soybeans if possible.
--- p.67

Oatmeal, rich in dietary fiber, is sometimes used as a substitute for rice in foreign countries, and is also often used as a breakfast substitute because it contains more protein and vitamin B1 than other grains and is easily digested.
Oatmeal is made by removing the hulls of oats, drying them sufficiently, roasting them appropriately, and then coarsely grinding them in a grinder or heating and pressing them in a steam press.
The ground ones are called groats, and the pressed ones are called rolled oats.
In this book, oats and oatmeal are used interchangeably.

--- p.86

Late-stage solid foods can be started from 9 months of age.
It is possible up to 10 or 11 months of age.
But around 10 months of age, the baby starts throwing a tantrum and refuses to eat baby food.
This is usually the time when more than 90% of babies refuse solid food.
If so, you need to prepare to move quickly to the finished/toddler stage.
Can I eat baby food if I don't have any teeth? Yes, I can.
They are making a fuss saying they don't like sticky, plain rice that's neither porridge nor rice, so I can't force them to continue.
So, usually, they move on to baby food/toddler food around 10-11 months after birth.

--- p.317

It's not like I ate it every day without fail from the beginning of topping baby food to the early, middle, and late stages of weaning.
There were many days when I cried and said I wouldn't eat, and spit it out while eating.
Every time that happened, I tried various methods to overcome it.
I tried changing the feeding time, chopping or grinding the food into smaller pieces to change the particle size, changing the consistency to thinner or thicker, actively using finger foods to change up the feeding process, and even mixing it all together to make porridge.
Try out different methods like this and gradually adjust them to your baby.
Help your baby learn that feeding time is a fun mealtime, so it's okay to eat a little less.

7 Reasons Why So Many Parents Trust and Choose "Puni Topping Baby Food"

1.
NEW: Detailed and friendly baby food information reflecting the latest baby food guidelines.

First, a lot has changed since when my first child was eating solid food.
Experts say that it is better to start solid food around 6 months of age, regardless of whether it is pure milk or powder, and that it is better to start with granular food rather than liquid food, and to increase the consistency quickly.
It's confusing because there are so many changes.
I think it will be harder for new parents.
So, the author diligently researched and studied the revised weaning food guidelines by looking up data from the American Academy of Pediatrics, WHO, overseas papers, and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Korea.
I poured all that experience, knowledge, and know-how into this book.
It will serve as a reliable and followable guide for those who are just starting to introduce solid food.

2.
Yamujida: Oatmeal, rice flour, cubes, broth, and other useful tips you'll miss out on if you don't know them.

In the beginning, only rice and glutinous rice were used.
Now you can use mixed grains from the beginning.
The most representative one is oatmeal.
Brown rice is also possible.
Oatmeal is a popular baby food ingredient that is used as a substitute for rice in foreign countries.
It is a food ingredient that is helpful for growing children because it contains a lot of iron.
It started with just rice and oatmeal.
Not only that, it's full of valuable tips you'll want to know, like how to use rice flour, how to make a ton of cubes at once, and how to make a delicious broth that'll have you eating a whole bowl in no time.

3.
Easy: Easy instructions and foolproof recipes that even new parents can follow in no time.

“I decided to start using commercial baby food and read your blog post.
“I started making baby food because I thought, strangely enough, that I could do it too.”
“When I was struggling with the recent changes in baby food guidelines and toppings, Heeya’s post was a ray of light for me.” “I felt comforted every time I read it.
“Thanks to you, I was able to persevere and finish making baby food.”
As you can guess from the numerous reviews above, Heeya's baby food recipes are really easy and anyone can follow them.
As a bonus, the baby eats well and the parents are happy too.

4.
Delicious: Delicious baby food that takes into account the compatibility of ingredients, your child's health, and even their taste buds.

He wasn't a good eater from the beginning.
I tried every possible method to get my child to eat, even if he was a little strange and would spit it out and get irritated.
We'll share all the know-how you need to find delicious baby food recipes, including ingredient compatibility, trying new ingredients, and finding your baby's favorite feeding times.

5.
Fun: Who knew a baby food book could be this entertaining? Packed with time-saving information.

A baby food book is not a novel.
It's packed with information about baby food.
But it's strange.
Moms say:
I never knew that I would spend so much time reading a baby food book.
If I had studied like this earlier, I could have gone to Seoul National University! It's that fun and informative.
What parent would neglect feeding their baby?
Moreover, rather than an explanation filled with rigid theories, the teacher teaches in a way that is easy to understand, based on the know-how accumulated over many years while raising two children, so you won't be able to stay up all night.

6.
Meal Plan: 38 pages of baby food meal plans, the most important and necessary for new parents.

Each child grows at a different rate and the timing of starting solid food is slightly different.
Although weaning guidelines start at 6 months (180 days), children do not follow the textbook instructions.
So, the initial diet plan introduced a total of 5 types: 150-day start, 160-day start, 170-day start, 174-day start (only diet plan), and 180-day start.
And we have included the mid-stage 1 and 2 diet plans (7-8 months old), late-stage 1, 2, 3 diet plans (9-11 months old), and the final stage diet plan (2 weeks).

7.
Baby Food in Video: 129 Recipe Video QR Codes

The photos and recipe descriptions are really detailed, but these days, it's the video age.
Simply scan the QR code next to the recipe with your smartphone to instantly view a clear video.
If you have any questions about making baby food, please check the QR code video.

The author makes one final request.
Never compare your child to other children.

Each child has different developmental stages and temperaments.
Our goal for baby food is to have three enjoyable meals together as a family by the time your baby turns one.
Even if it progresses a little slowly, please trust your baby and wait.
Your lovely babies will grow up healthy and eating well just like you.
