Into the book
The stratum corneum is the outermost layer of our skin.
Because the drug cannot easily pass through the stratum corneum, the stratum corneum acts as a reservoir to trap the drug.
If the reservoir is already full, applying more medicine on top of it will not speed up the absorption of the medicine deep into the skin.
--- p.13
Tetracycline series drugs have reduced absorption when taken with metallic nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, and iron.
Therefore, you must avoid consuming dairy products such as milk within 1 to 2 hours of taking the medication.
If you take mineral nutrients from a multivitamin or take metal supplements such as calcium or magnesium separately, avoid taking them at least 2 hours apart.
--- p.24
It's not that the mucus is sticky and not coming out, but the inside of the nose itself is swollen and blocked.
In that case, blowing your nose with toilet paper won't solve the problem.
You should take medicine to reduce the swelling in your nose.
The most common medication used when your nose is itchy due to allergies is antihistamines.
Antihistamines are not effective for nasal congestion that is not caused by allergies.
Instead, you should use a nasal decongestant such as pseudoephedrine.
--- p.47
Antacids, which we take when we have an upset stomach, do not treat the root cause, but simply neutralize the stomach acid that has already been secreted.
In short, antacids are only a temporary measure to relieve acute symptoms.
If you rely too heavily on antacids to temporarily relieve pain, you risk missing out on early signs of serious conditions like gastrointestinal bleeding or stomach cancer.
If symptoms persist even after using antacids for more than two weeks, it is best to visit a hospital as soon as possible.
--- p.76
Of course, if you have gastroesophageal reflux disease or an ulcer, the most important thing is appropriate prescription and medication.
However, adding dietary supplements to these standard treatments can help stomach health in different ways.
While drug treatments that suppress gastric acid secretion work by removing the factors that attack the damaged stomach, DGL works by strengthening its defenses by promoting gastric mucosal regeneration. Ingesting DGL increases nutrient supply to damaged gastric mucosa and activates mucosal-producing cells, thickening the thinned gastric mucosa.
--- p.100
Vitamin B complex is included in almost all fatigue recovery supplements.
Vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), and B7 (biotin) perform essential functions in energy metabolism, while vitamins B9 (folic acid) and B12 (cobalamin) are necessary for cell regeneration.
--- p.123
There is almost no difference in the amount of acetaminophen, an antipyretic, between Champ Cold Syrup (70mg) and Coldaewon Kids Cold Syrup (75mg).
However, the cough medicine and allergy medicine ingredients are contained in 50% more in Coldaewon Kids Cold.
For those who ask if the medicine is toxic, we inform them of the difference in dosage and recommend the lower dose.
--- p.155
Of course, putting in artificial tears will not heal the cornea that has been damaged by dryness.
If the corneal damage is severe, a medication containing polydeoxynucleotide, or PDRN, is recommended.
The name of the drug may seem complicated and unfamiliar, but it is simply a way of explaining what a DNA fragment is.
--- p.175
If venous circulation is impaired, your legs swell and feel heavy, and in severe cases, it can make daily life difficult.
This is a common problem experienced by service workers who wear high heels or have to stand for long periods of time.
--- p.199
But that very caffeine is reducing the quantity and quality of your sleep at night.
If you feel tired every morning no matter how much you sleep, it's because you didn't get good quality sleep at night.
Frequent caffeine consumption not only shortens the amount of time you sleep, but also prevents you from entering a deep sleep state, so you recover from fatigue more slowly than if you sleep comfortably without caffeine even if you sleep for the same amount of time.
--- p.229
However, if you consume too much tyrosine, it can cause an imbalance in the catecholamine synthesis pathway, including dopamine, which can lead to other dysfunctions.
Please remember that more is not better.
--- p.245
There are some caveats.
Diabetic patients who require medication should not try to control their blood sugar with banaba leaf extract instead of their blood sugar medication.
These functional ingredients should only be considered as adjunctive therapies recommended for healthy pre-diabetic individuals with no risk of hypoglycemia.
--- p.263
Alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid, changes from ETA to EPA and then to DHA. EPA and DHA are omega-3 ingredients commonly consumed in health supplements, and these two fatty acids are used as ingredients for anti-inflammatory factors.
It is known that consuming enough omega-3 is beneficial.
Because the drug cannot easily pass through the stratum corneum, the stratum corneum acts as a reservoir to trap the drug.

Publisher's Review
Aldeok asks, and Donggong tells the pharmacist!
Pharmacy knowledge explained through dialogue with characters
Unlike conventional, stiff pharmacy books, "Donggong's Pharmacist's Full Pharmacy" is structured around concerns about medicine that anyone can experience in their daily lives.
To realistic questions like “I’m worried about the side effects of steroids,” “My stomach hurts when I just take painkillers,” and “Can I drink coffee after taking medicine?”, he provides clear and easy answers based on his expertise as a pharmacist and his explanatory skills honed through his work as a creator.
The dialogue format between 'Donggong the Pharmacist' and 'Aldeok', drawn by the author himself, helps to narrow the psychological distance between people and medicine and naturally understand the complex principles of medicine.
It uses less technical jargon and uses everyday language so anyone can read it without feeling burdened.
For your health today
A guide to medicines tailored to your daily life
This book provides smart ways to take medicine to increase its effectiveness and reduce side effects.
It contains detailed information that is difficult to obtain by visiting a pharmacy alone, such as nutrients that should be taken with foods that interfere with drug absorption, drug-drug interactions, optimal dosage times, and proper storage methods.
It even explains the mechanism of action of the drug in an easy-to-understand way, helping to alleviate any vague fears about medication.
The content is organized into six areas: skin health, respiratory and digestive health, blood sugar management and pain control, vision protection and vitality enhancement, mental and physical balance, and the power of nutrients. It also provides practical guidelines on which medication to choose and how to manage symptoms.
Professor Jang-ik Lee, a professor at Seoul National University College of Pharmacy and former head of the FDA Clinical Pharmacology Team, praised the book as “a practical guide for anyone who wants to resolve misunderstandings and questions about drugs.”
《Pharmacist Donggong's Full Pharmacy》 is a reliable health mentor and a reliable guide to medicines in daily life that can be kept by one's side for modern people who do not have time to receive medication guidance in their busy daily lives.
